In 1992, Glenn co-founded Highbridge Capital Management LLC, an alternative asset management company. During his tenure as CEO, Highbridge evolved from a multi-strategy hedge fund into a diversified alternative asset management institution with over $35 billion of capital under management.

Glenn is a co-Founder, Board member and former Board chair of the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that pioneered the application of investment principles to charitable giving. Glenn is the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Stony Brook University in 1978 with a B.A. in Economics.

Der Bundesregierung ist seit dem 6. Juli 2015 bekannt, dass laut US-Untersuchungen im Jahr 2004 Proben mit aktiven Anthrax-Sporen an ein Labor der US-Streitkräfte in Landstuhl (Public Health Command Research Europe – PHCR Europe) geliefert wurden.

Die Proben in Landstuhl sind nach Auskunft des US-Verteidigungsministeriums im Jahr 2013 vernichtet worden. ⁉️

Um eine Gefährdung der Zivilbevölkerung durch eine Freisetzung von biologischen Agenzien, z.B. Anthrax-Sporen, aus einem Forschungslabor auszuschließen, gibt es Sicherheitsvorschriften, die vom jeweiligen Risikopotenzial abhängen.

Für Arbeiten mit Krankheitserregern nach § 51 des Infektionsschutzgesetzes obliegt die Aufsichtspflicht der zuständigen Behörde des Landes, in dem die Streitkräfte und in diesem Fall auch das Labor stationiert sind.

In diesem Fall handelt es sich um das Ministerium für Soziales, Arbeit, Gesundheit und Demografie des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz.

Die deutschen Vorschriften und Verfahren zur Verhütung und Bekämpfung übertragbarer Krankheiten bei Menschen, Tieren und Pflanzen gelten gemäß Artikel 54 Absatz 1 Satz 1 des Zusatzabkommens zu dem Abkommen zwischen den Parteien des Nordatlantik-Vertrags über die Rechtsstellung ihrer Truppen hinsichtlich der in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland stationierten ausländischen Truppen grundsätzlich auch für die Truppe einer Vertragspartei des NATO-Truppenstatuts.

Interesting because MED8 = Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 8 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MED8 gene.

This gene encodes a protein that is one of more than 20 subunits of the mediator complex, first identified in S. cerevisiae, that is required for activation of transcription.

The product of this gene also interacts with elongins B and C, and CUL2 and RBX1, to reconstitute a ubiquitin ligase. Five alternative transcripts encoding four isoforms have been described.
