The Hamas / PFLP terror propaganda piece via @NickKristof @nytimes is a cut & paste of bogus NGO "reports" including Euro-Med HR Monitor. FYI (via @NGOmonitor):
Not sure about the "erudition" but I'll take it. On the other hand, I've read and been tortured by 1000's of pages of the orchestrated "genocide" propaganda - from the NGO industry, UN and academic"experts", etc. ~90% (rough estimate) is cut & paste. Samples and details to follow>
Details: 1) The manipulation of the evidence in numerous "genocide" reports points to pre-determined and orchestrated result, in contrast to analysis of credible data in the context of legitimate military requirements vs Hamas. Examples:
2) The "genocide" chorus parrots raw unverifiable casualty stats from Hamas-run Gaza ministry (some multiply by 2 or more). Even using this data, preponderance of combat age males, etc shows casualties consistent with combat, not "intentional mass killing". h/t @GabrielEpsteinX @Aizenberg55
Two years after the trauma of the Oct 7 slaughter, Israelis are waking up to the announcement of a deal to return all the hostages in 72 hours and end the war. Until this actually happens, we're still in cautious optimism mode, but this time, the details look real. >
Credit Trump for imposing terms on all the parties - directly on Netanyahu, and on Hamas by pressuring/ embracing Qatar and Turkey. In addition, continuous IDF military pressure on Hamas (including the recent failed strikes on leaders in Qatar).>
The outcome is primarily due to exhaustion after 2 years of intense conflict, including the IDF push in Gaza city, and allowing Trump's team to put details together and impose them. The exhaustion & fear of Trump gives Israel & Hamas strong incentives to implement the deal.>
1) In Israel, there is significant criticism over details of the "Trump deal," particularly from within Netanyahu's coalition. But given the power distribution among different actors, my assessment is that the terms are the best (or least bad) possible for Israel. >
2) Core issue is return of all Israeli hostages after 2 years of heinous torture by Hamas. Israel will need to release another group of murderers - causing more pain, particularly to the families of victims. But there is better option on the table - this is the price.
3) Problematic points include a) IDF withdrawal from half of Gaza, while depending on a totally ambiguous framework to complete disarming Hamas. Experience shows that foreign "peacekeepers" etc won't do it, and in some cases, they assist the terrorists (ie UNIFIL in Lebanon). >
Just in: "Genocide studies" - is a pseudo-academic field, anchored in personal opinions, ideology and Holocaust inversion. This piece in state funded @dwnews is shameful propaganda. The only genocidal party is Hamas. cc @GerAmbTLV
German state media platform @dwnews published deadly Holocaust inversion propaganda written by pseudo academics in a pseudo-academic journal.

@dwnews @GerAmbTLV If the heads of @dwnews @DeutscheWelle has a gram of integrity, they would publish this by @robsatloff blogs.timesofisrael.com/the-genocide-s…
Thread: On "The Decline and Fall of NGOs" (@WSJ, Walter Russell Mead, citing book by @sarahsunnbush & Jennifer Hadden) - links at the end of the thread. 1) The decline of the powerful NGO industry, including reduced funding, major staff cuts, and the end of the "halo effect" is long overdue and a positive development for democracy. Political NGOs like @amnesty, @hrw, @oxfam, etc. are unaccountable and lack transparency and checks and balances on their power.
2) The term "non-governmental organization" is often misleading -- many are funded by governments (ie GoNGOs), usually without transparency, and used as policy subcontractors to push ideological and political objectives under facades of apolitical expert organizations. USAID was a prominent example, as are counterparts in Europe, UK, Canada, Australia etc.
3) Powerful private foundations -- @FordFoundation, @RockBrosFund, @OpenSociety (Soros), @ckochfoundation etc also use the NGO realm to engineer society and democracy around the world, but take no responsibility when their programs turn into disasters, as in Africa, Middle East, Asia etc.
My article in the @JewishJournal
The whirlwind of accusations on Gaza parallel the 2002 Jenin "massacre" hoax. Then, as now, there are few verifiable facts, but relying on Palestinian “sources, UN & NGO industry allies, Israel is pronounced guilty. The concerted campaign turns propaganda into unquestioned fact. >
Palestinian officials and NGO “experts” rushed to appear on the BBC and CNN, where they authoritatively declared that Israeli forces killed 500 or even 1,300 civilians. Citing Palestinian hospitals and anonymous “eyewitnesses”, they described IDF tanks allegedly bulldozing homes and executing civilians. Derek Pounder, from Amnesty International, told the BBC that he had direct first-hand knowledge to verify these atrocities. But Pounder was nowhere near Jenin, as was the case for all the other “independent sources.”>
@Ken Roth, long-time head of @hrw with anti-Israel obsession, condemned the “disproportionate use of force” – an easily manipulated term which lacks a consistent definition. Roth repeated the mantra, and echoing “trusted NGO experts,” media headlines featured words like massacre and war crimes. >>
