He strips away the rhetorical facade on occupation, settlements, the IDF etc & reminds everyone that the sole goal of Palestinian society (not only Hamas) is to erase Israel & return to 1947. How visit by @JoeBiden to Israel Wednesday might be a game changer: 1) No major ground war in Gaza - Israel won't send 1000s of troops while Biden is in Jerusalem, and by the time he leaves, the political window for a full-scale operation will be shut. > @JoeBiden 2) As a gesture to Biden, @netanyahu will allow delivery of some humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egypt. The post-Netanyahu period for Israel will be interesting (understatement). After 12 years of increasingly polarized politics, the main objective for the 8 party coalition will be to restore coherence and social solidarity. Even passing a budget will be a major accomplishment.
