Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "This year the USA is celebrating its 250th year since the Declaration of Independence was signed and published.

But I want to point out another part of US history.
1)
This is also the 225th year since George Washington’s final address to the American people and Congress was read.

There were two important warnings in Washington’s written remarks upon ending his term in office that are relevant today—relevant for Americans and
2)
maybe relevant for peoples elsewhere as well.

Washington warned about two things:

He warned about what he called “entangling alliances.” He reasoned that alliances were not bad, but that as history changes circumstances,
3)
the USA should not see itself as linked to the fate of other nations’ interests unless those alliances were open and honest and based on shared goals. Today, NATO seems to have become anti-USA, having reacted negatively to the US demand...
4)
that they actually honor their treaty obligations, and then, what to do with Turkey, which seems to work against NATO and Western interests while hiding under NATO protection.
5)
Washington warned against trusting political parties. Why? Because he believed that too often parties put their interests in winning, in control, and in the financial benefits of power as more important than the interests of the people, and
6)
that too many made parties and personalities into their idols to worship, voting blindly as if it were a religion and not a matter of what policies work best for the nation.

Perhaps Americans should familiarize themselves with the wisdom of the Founders of the nation.
7)
But then what Washington wrote might apply as well in the UK, Australia, Germany, France, and others, where too many voters vote for a party just because of loyalty to that party, or more often because of false beliefs about what a party still represents."

The Telegraph article reported on a Trump administration proposal for the US to directly purchase the Chagos Islands from Mauritius, securing full control of the Diego Garcia military base while bypassing the stalled UK-Mauritius sovereignty transfer deal.
1)
Diego Garcia is a critical US-UK strategic asset in the Indian Ocean, supporting bomber operations, surveillance, and logistics from the Gulf Wars to Yemen strikes, with US concerns over potential future Chinese influence via Mauritius prompting the direct-buy idea.
2)
The proposal follows Trump's repeated criticism of the UK deal as "great stupidity" and weakness, highlighting US efforts to lock in long-term control of key bases amid great power competition, though no price or final agreement has been set.

Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "I have been asked to write something again about the issue of non-citizens voting, so here it is.

I believe in the law, and in the U.S. Constitution as being the basis of all federal law.
1)
And as such, only citizens of the USA should be allowed to vote in federal elections.

Fact: All references to the vote in the Constitution of the USA restrict the right to vote to citizens of the USA.

Can't get it more simple than that.
2)
Now, the only argument that remains is how can this right of citizenship be protected. How can we make sure the vote is limited to citizens?

We can do that in two ways.

And now, for the facts.
The proposed Section 224 of the FY2027 National Defense Authorization Act, titled the “United States–Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,” is best understood as...
1) Image
an expansion of existing U.S. defense cooperation frameworks with close allies. The United States already maintains similar agreements with partners such as the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and NATO countries.
2)
These arrangements commonly include joint research and development, co-production of defense systems, interoperability initiatives, and coordinated technological advancement, and Section 224 follows that established model.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain.
1)
Cancel it, just like I canceled my involvement with the failing and unsafe to be in Kennedy Center, because a Highly Conflicted, Crooked Federal Judge, said that I should not be allowed to spend my time and money in order to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN,
2)
actually, far greater than it ever was before! It would have also been nice to see a Republican/Democrat union bring it back to life. The Kennedy Center is broken, unsafe, and $busted, and has been for many years! Judge Cooper also stated that the highly prestigious Board ...

Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "Understanding Iran’s Islamic Regime - The Story of Karbala

There is an element in the psychology of the Islamic Republic of Iran that the West, including the USA Administration, seems not to understand, and
1)
and that is the way Shi’i Twelver ideology sees the story of Karbala.

Karbala was the site of war between Husayn ibn Ali (the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad) and his small band of followers who made a final stand against the forces of Yazid, the Umayyad caliph.
2)
This was a struggle over authority within Islam. The followers of Husayn became the Shi’i.

But what is important about Karbala, is that, though the Shi’i side was defeated completely, their followers claimed a victory, a moral victory,

Cuba. - Hates and responds to anyone who opposes it, and provides many benefits to those in charge of the political system and its military, encourages terrorist movements and

Dictators who abuse their citizens if they declare themselves "Socialists"are fine in the eyes of the UN and the International community without judgment. (Perceived as a problem only by the US)
