Here are 10 vitamins and minerals you should never take, and why:

1/ Magnesium oxide… 🧵 Image
Image
Magnesium is an essential mineral, but not all forms work.

Magnesium oxide is cheap. Your body absorbs only 3 percent, & it can cause diarrhea, flushing out electrolytes.

Choose magnesium glycinate for:
• 80–85% absorption
• Better sleep
• More energy
• Less muscle tension
2/ Synthetic vitamin A

Synthetic vitamin A must convert to its active form, but it does so inefficiently.

It can accumulate in the liver and fat, causing toxicity, bone loss, & birth defects during pregnancy.

Instead, get vitamin A from:
• Egg yolks
• Liver
• Cod liver oil
3/ Synthetic beta-carotene

Not all beta-carotene has protective effects. Synthetic beta-carotene, often made from petroleum, has been linked to higher lung cancer risk in smokers.

Natural beta-carotene from carrots and leafy greens is safe and protective.
4/ Folic acid (vitamin B9)

Folic acid must convert to folate, its active form.

30–40% of people have a gene variant called MTHFR that blocks the conversion.

This acid can build up, raising cancer risk & weakening immunity.
Choose natural folate from dark leafy greens instead.
5/ Synthetic B12 (cyanocobalamin)

“Cyano” refers to cyanide. This form contains trace cyanide & is less bioavailable than natural methylcobalamin.

It can deplete glutathione, a key antioxidant, & may be toxic if your detox pathways are weak.

Get B12 from:
• Red meat
• Liver
6/ Calcium carbonate

Calcium carbonate is poorly absorbed and can accumulate in arteries and kidneys, increasing the risk of heart attacks.

Calcium works best when balanced with magnesium in a 1:1 ratio.

Get calcium naturally from:
• Cheese
• Yogurt
• Kefir
• Leafy greens
7/ Iron (ferrous sulfate)

Iron is corrosive and hard to excrete.

Excess iron raises risks for:
• Type 2 diabetes
• Liver issues
• Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s

Get iron naturally from liver or red meat. Avoid supplements unless specifically recommended.
8/ Synthetic vitamin D (ergocalciferol)

This form is made by irradiating fungus or yeast.

Its conversion to active vitamin D is inefficient, and it binds weakly to transport proteins.

Natural vitamin D3 from sunlight or cod liver oil is far more effective.
9/ Omega-6 seed oils

Some supplements include linoleic acid, an omega-6 fat.

The average diet contains about 25 times more omega-6 fats than omega-3 fats.

Excess omega-6 promotes inflammation.

Better sources of healthy fats include:
• Fish
• Cod liver oil
• Grass-fed meat
10/ Copper

Copper is essential in trace amounts.

But too much, especially without proper zinc balance, can contribute to brain and liver toxicity, oxidative stress, and increased Alzheimer’s risk.

Get copper naturally from:
• Shellfish
• Liver
• Dark chocolate
Many cheap synthetic vitamins are not just ineffective. They can be dangerous.

Focus on nutrients from real foods like eggs, liver, leafy greens, fish, and whole foods.

Berberine helps regulate blood sugar more effectively than metformin.

Study: 116 individuals with type 2 diabetes over 3 months

Results: A1C decreased by 12% with berberine compared to 11% with metformin

It also showed fewer side effects, making it safer for glucose control.
2/ St. John’s wort

Study: 251 patients with moderate to severe depression over 6 weeks

Results: 70% improvement with St. John’s wort compared to 60% with SSRIs

Side effects were significantly lower, with fewer reports of sexual dysfunction and other adverse effects.

Addiction to substances like nicotine, alcohol, and other drugs can be incredibly difficult to overcome.

Most people rely on willpower, but what if your body is missing something that makes quitting easier?

Here is how 1 nutrient can help you break free from addiction: 🧵
Many addictions, including nicotine, alcohol, and drugs, deplete a crucial molecule in your cells called NAD.

NAD is required for:
• Energy production
• Normal brain function
• Damaged cell repair

When NAD levels are low, the brain struggles to function properly.
Low levels of NAD make withdrawal symptoms worse because your neurons cannot produce enough energy.

This often results in:
• Fatigue
• Irritability
• Anxiety
• Poor sleep
• Stronger cravings

Want to have a bright white smile like Tom Cruise, Kim Kardashian, and George Clooney?

It's not as hard as you may think.

Here’s a safe and effective way to whiten your teeth using only two ingredients: 🧵
Professional whitening treatments and over-the-counter strips can be expensive and often cause tooth sensitivity.

This simple remedy costs around $3 and effectively removes stains caused by coffee, tea, wine, and natural aging.

Here are the two ingredients you need to make it:
1/ Baking soda
A gentle, non-abrasive polishing agent that helps remove stains and plaque.

2/ Hydrogen peroxide (3% or less)
The active whitening ingredient in most products.
At low concentrations, it safely breaks down stains and is far more affordable than commercial strips.

Everyone thinks gray hair is the result of genetics and aging.
It's not.

It's your body breaking down its own tissues to survive stress.

Here's the real culprit (and how to reverse it): 🧵
Aging and genetics play a role in gray hair.

But lifestyle factors can significantly affect how early gray hair appears.

This is where epigenetics comes in.
Your habits influence how your genes express themselves.
There are two primary contributors to premature graying:

1/ Decreased melanin production
2/ Increased oxidative stress within the hair follicle

Let’s examine each one…

Fat on your face and having a double chin can make you look older than you are.

Here are 5 steps to get rid of facial fat permanently:

1/ Stop snacking frequently… 🧵 Image
Every time you eat, you raise insulin.

Frequent snacking keeps insulin elevated all day, locking your body in fat-storage mode & making it harder to burn fat.

Give your body longer breaks between meals.
This helps regulate hunger, improve energy, & support fat loss naturally.
Facial fat is not just fat accumulation. It is often hormonal.

Cortisol can trigger muscle breakdown, converting amino acids into glucose.

This contributes to elevated blood sugar and indirectly promotes fat storage through insulin.

High blood pressure doesn't start with age.

It starts with inflammation, insulin resistance, and low nitric oxide.

Here are 8 science-backed methods to lower your blood pressure naturally:

1/ Eat lots of garlic… 🧵 Image

Garlic acts similarly to certain blood pressure medications called ACE inhibitors, and may help support healthy blood pressure.

It may help:
• Relax blood vessels
• Improve circulation
• Increase nitric oxide production
• Support cardiovascular health naturally
90% of hypertension cases are classified as “essential hypertension.”

In other words, no clear root cause is identified.

Despite decades of research, most people are still primarily offered medication rather than solutions that address the underlying issue.
