Jeremy’s Janissaries: I feel like a lot of Christians on the right are vaguely familiar with Jeremy Boreing and know he used to be the CEO of Daily Wire. Perhaps fewer are aware of the significance of his current spin-off show and what it represents. 🧵
Boreing co-founded DW with Ben Shapiro, a man who describes Jesus as “a Jew who tried to lead a revolt against the Romans and got killed for his trouble”. After steeply declining subscriptions and a flop Game of Thrones ripoff, Boreing bailed and took his solo act on the road.
Side note: a particularly funny part of last night’s interview was the panel mocking @JoelWebbon for having non-believers at his Christ is King event, when Boreing partnered with Ben for 15 years and featured pro-porn Prager, child trafficker Dave Rubin, etc. Zero sense of irony.
Boreing’s newest venture is a podcast. Unsurprisingly for a man who had employees refer to him as “God King” (why lie about this btw?), he named it “The Jeremy Boreing Show”. When you look at the guest list, a distinct pattern emerges:
There’s the obvious Babylon Bee crew, pro-porn Dennis Prager, etc. But he also trots out former dissidents like Gage and Southern. These were people who happened to be anti-Zionist but engaged in disgusting moral behavior and crashed out, now eunuch captives to parade on screen.
Per the Backstreet Boys, it doesn’t matter what you did, as long as you now love me [Israel]. If Boreing thought you were a mentally unwell Nazi 5 mins ago, or still love the confederacy, you’re now useful. The man who runs ads with scantily clad models is going to rehab you.
I’m sure it’s cathartic for Boreing, but obviously won’t be effective. The ideas of the new Christian right are explored with zero curiosity or rigor. None of Gen-Z’s concerns are legitimate. In 2 hr pod about Nazis(!), not a single legit concern about Israel was acknowledged.
The show is a tone-deaf time capsule; a throwback to when any criticism of Israel was dismissed with a simple “Nazi!”. It will be a source of comfort to the same tired Babylon Bee crew. But movements with sacred cows you’re not allowed to question always fails in the end. Always.

Since the NCP conference, I’ve had a lot of friends on the periphery (familiar with Ogden but not attendees) asking what the big deal is. They heard Ogden’s explanation and don’t understand why the attacks are so shrill. There’s some important dynamics at play to understand.🧵
It puzzles people because Ogden isn’t especially radical re: Jews, Nazis, etc. They have had frank convos on these topic so the “taboo” was taken away. Any further talks (like Isker’s at NCP) are imminently rational and well-hinged. WW2 just isn’t a big focus for them. 2/🧵
Here’s the key part: this drives their detractors absolutely nuts. They need to believe that dissent on this topic means you’re a Nazi. So when an opportunity comes along like this (1 out of 50+ sponsors with an unauthorized flyer), they seize upon the juicy morsel. But why? 3/🧵
