Jeremy’s Janissaries: I feel like a lot of Christians on the right are vaguely familiar with Jeremy Boreing and know he used to be the CEO of Daily Wire. Perhaps fewer are aware of the significance of his current spin-off show and what it represents. 🧵 Boreing co-founded DW with Ben Shapiro, a man who describes Jesus as “a Jew who tried to lead a revolt against the Romans and got killed for his trouble”. After steeply declining subscriptions and a flop Game of Thrones ripoff, Boreing bailed and took his solo act on the road.

Since the NCP conference, I’ve had a lot of friends on the periphery (familiar with Ogden but not attendees) asking what the big deal is. They heard Ogden’s explanation and don’t understand why the attacks are so shrill. There’s some important dynamics at play to understand.🧵 It puzzles people because Ogden isn’t especially radical re: Jews, Nazis, etc. They have had frank convos on these topic so the “taboo” was taken away. Any further talks (like Isker’s at NCP) are imminently rational and well-hinged. WW2 just isn’t a big focus for them. 2/🧵
