Outside of Greece, however, very few people know anything about her. The left in Europe and America has already begun treating her the same way they have attacked Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and France’s Marine Le Pen.
2)
This young woman has identified where the problems lie in the EU—an EU that has damaged the Greek economy, flooded the Greek islands with migrants, and turned a blind eye to Turkish aggression.
3)
If I were Greek, I would be listening to
her. The mass immigration overwhelming the islands, increased crime, and a government burdened with paying for these illegal migrants all come on top of the lingering effects of EU-imposed austerity.
4)
Those policies stifled growth and small business development, leaving Greece worse off—while ensuring that German and French banks holding Greek debt were repaid.
On top of all this is ongoing Turkish aggression, which the EU and NATO seem unwilling to confront."

Many people thank G-d when something happens that they like, but then should they not curse G-d when things do not come out the way they wanted them to? If not, why not?
1)
@rlefraim Maybe both miss the point. They seem to come from the belief that G-d does for us because G-d wants something from us — sacrifice, praise, prayer.
Some religions in the world operate on transactional bases philosophically.
2)
@rlefraim If you submit most fervently, if you bring the best sacrifices, you will get better in the afterlife, or get favors in this life. Islam is based on submission, on the quality of submission as defined by leaders, as the key to Paradise (Jinnah), for example.

“The Peter Principle,” published in the 1960s, argued that people in a bureaucratic hierarchy tend to rise to their “level of incompetence”:
1)
@rlefraim employees are promoted based on their success in previous roles until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, since skills in one role do not necessarily translate to another.
2)
@rlefraim In Israel, this has gone further. Because of what is called “protektsia” (connections), a practice in which promotions, job security, and access to lucrative opportunities are determined more by who you know,

@rlefraim At that time, someone sent me the texts of all four indictments, and I studied them carefully and came to a conclusion. At the same time, there is (1) a severe lack of evidence that was not based on what can be called "mind-reading," accusations based on speculation about...

@rlefraim what Netanyahu may have been thinking and what he may have been planning. Anyone who understands something of the law knows that this kind of evidence is not evidence at all. One of the indictments was dependent on a "time machine," as Netanyahu was accused of making...

@rlefraim shortly after taking office, served 3 1/2 years, and then ran on his own and won for 4 more years, choosing after 8 years to stop, citing George Washington as his model (before the Constitution was changed to limit terms).

@rlefraim Roosevelt was pro-Jewish and pro-Zionist and had very close relationships with the Jewish community. First president to appoint a Jew to his cabinet. Kept two Hanukkah menorahs at his home at Sagamore Hill.

@rlefraim The Egypt–Israel Peace Treaty was signed in Washington, D.C., on March 26, 1979. This historic agreement, which officially ended 30 years of war between the two nations, guaranteed normalization of relations, exchange of diplomats, and trade.
2)
@rlefraim Included in the agreement was Egypt’s promise not to militarize the Sinai after it was under Egyptian control, and Israel agreed to withdraw from the Sinai and to dismantle Jewish towns and farms.
