/ Learning different note-taking techniques: Paragraph, Outlining, Cornell System, Mind Mapping, Charting, The Feynman Technique
/ The Paragraph Method: Just writing down the things you think are important in paragraphs.
/ The Paragraph Method Takeaways: Very straight forward. Very simple. Only question: is it *too* simple?
/ The Outlining Method: Write topics, sub-topics and details using bullet points and indentation to structure the content. Image
/ The Outlining Method Takeaways: Simple and easy. Not ideal for pictures and illustrations. The output is ugly.
/ The Cornell System: Two columns: Left side for ideas, questions, and cues. Right side for detailed notes. Bottom for optional summaries. Image
/ The Cornell System Takeaways: Seems logical, but it doesn't appeal to me. Too structured perhaps? Might be wrong!
/ Mind Mapping: Very visual way of connecting ideas and thoughts to single concepts. Related ideas and concepts are connected. Image
/ Mind Mapping Takeaways: Awesome concept for connecting ideas and brainstorming. Not sure for regular note-taking. Need to investigate.
/ The Charting Method: Table with facts (each row) and supporting info in columns. See picture. Image
/ The Charting Method Takeaways: Great way to note facts and similar data. Good for finding relationships with facts.
/ The Feynman Technique Step 1: Choose the idea to learn. Create a new note with the name of the concept to learn.
/ The Feynman Technique Step 2: Pretend you're teaching the idea. Write out explanations. Helps you pinpoint what you don't understand.
/ The Feynman Technique Step 3: When stuck, go back and read the source (from which you are trying to learn the concept).
/ The Feynman Technique Step 4: Simplify and create analogies. Simplify language. Create analogies to make it more understandable.
/ Feynman Technique for understanding: Slowly go through each step to find out what you don't understand so you can go back to source.
/ Feynman Technique for remembering: Focus on Step 4 - Creating better analogies and simplifying the language.
/ The Feynman Technique Takeaways: This seems like a very straightforward and simple way to quickly learn new topics. Will use it!
/ Tweetstorm completed. Learned a lot! #basb
