If @realDonaldTrump ends DACA, we will pursue legislation and other legal avenues to stop this travesty & protect DREAMers. #SaveDACA

Today, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments on the availability of the abortion pill, mifepristone, to decide whether to roll back access to mifepristone nationwide.

Let’s talk about it. 🧵
When Dobbs was decided, we knew chaos and confusion would be unleased across the country, and we're seeing it now.

Mifepristone has been safely used for more than 20 years, accounting for over 50% of all abortions in the U.S. Now, access to this pill is at risk.
The FDA approved mifepristone as safe and effective in 2000, and then made the pill more accessible in 2016 and 2021 by allowing the pill to be:

▪️ dispensed in retail pharmacies and by mail
▪️ prescribed by more certified providers
▪️ prescribed through telehealth appointments

Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether it will overturn the Chevron doctrine—a 40-year-old doctrine that's critical to a functioning federal government.

Let me explain 🧵
The Chevron doctrine recognizes the Congress delegates authority to technical experts at federal agencies selected by Congress to implement federal laws, in line with Congress’s intent.
Overturning Chevron would enable individual judges to limit or overturn agency decisions, giving little to no deference to such decisions.

I will not support the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court for the following reasons:
She will vote to strike down the Affordable Care Act after being rushed on the Supreme Court in time to hear the case on November 10.

Millions of Americans will lose their health care – catastrophic in the middle of a pandemic.
She has a long history of being anti-choice and an explicit willingness to reverse SC precedent – endangering the protections of Roe v Wade. A woman’s right to control her own body is at stake.

The president expects her to support any challenge he mounts to the election results.

Gen. Soleimani was a reprehensible figure responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American service members and thousands of innocent people around the world.
His death in a U.S. airstrike further escalates hostilities and increases the potential for widespread violence in a part of the world already fraught with peril.
In normal times, we could have confidence that the President – fully cognizant of the potential ramifications of this strike – was mobilizing a whole of government response and coordinating with our allies to seek a diplomatic outcome. But these are not normal times.

President Trump’s hasty, unilateral decision to withdraw U.S. troops and abandon our Kurdish allies in Northern Syria was made without consulting senior military and State Department officials. Trump’s rationale is based on lies and misinformation which are evident in his tweets.
The President continues a pattern of erratic behavior that has resulted in the erosion of our long-standing alliances. It's actions like these that compelled Secretary Mattis, who understood the importance of our allies, to resign.
With this action, we stand to lose the gains we have made in the fight against extremism in the Middle East. This is a betrayal of the Kurdish forces who stood with us in the fight against ISIS and weakens the value of an American promise.
