Today I submitted my testimony to #ORLeg House Judiciary Committee in support of #HB4145, a bill to close a dangerous loophole & better protect victims of domestic violence, as well as law enforcement who respond to their calls for help. Full text: facebook.com/notes/mike-ree…
My team at @MultCoSO responded to 21 domestic assaults involving firearms last year. Domestic abusers are dangerous individuals & the loophole allows them to possess firearms if they're not married to their victim – even if the victim filed a restraining order. #ORLEG
@MultCoSO Simply put, #HB4145 would take guns out of dangerous and volatile situations by prohibiting domestic abusers with restraining orders and convicted stalkers from possessing firearms. #orleg

2/- We need all Mult Co residents, no matter their immigration status, to feel confident going to law enforcement w/o worry of deportation.
