We rescue and re-home a lot of dogs.

I’ve never seen the team as emotional as saying goodbye to Panda today.

What a comeback he had and what a life he is off to live… (1/7) 🧵 Image
We were called to him collapsed outside a 7-11 trying to cool down.

He only had a day or 2 to live at most. (2/7)
As soon he came to us he went downhill. His body nearly gave up.

He spent 10 days in ICU. His bill was about $3000 and I thought it might end up being a huge waste of money as his outlook was so bleak (3/7) Image

With a lot of work and patience we fixed Panda’s health issues.

He also lost 15kg or about 35 lbs. he looks amazing now (4/7) Image

Panda was our “house dog” at @wearehappydoggo . No restricted area, free roaming and always with a human.

He’s just an angel with other dogs and humans. But he deserved a forever home also (5/7) Image
Image
He is traveling to live on a farm in Scotland.

I had to tell all the team that he’ll have his very own humans there and that it opens up space for the next Panda to come into us (6/7) Image
It’s not easy to say goodbye but all we can do is promise to send them off to forever homes in a better state than when we found them.

Travel safely Panda 🙏🥰 (7/7) Image

A few weeks ago Jimbo was on his own living on the streets.

His health was so bad he was close to death.

Today he has a new Job… (1/4) 🧵 Image
He loves attention and humans so much because he never knew love in his life.

Sometimes we have dogs that don’t need a leash or to stay in a fenced off play area. (2/4)
Jimbo has therefore been appointed to head of security in Alba’s kitchen where he takes over from Atlas.

It’s a very important job as food gets cooked for 1300 dogs a day here (3/4) Image

3 days ago we got a report of a young puppy. Locals were frantic with worry.

We were told it had been poisoned.

It was time to swing into action as time was very limited (1/7) 🧵
We got her into our hospital and onto life support.

The team had to clean out her stomach.
(2/7) Image

It was very touch and go for the first 24 hours.

We struggled to find the problem. Snake bite? Poison? Accident? Abuse? (3/7)

6 months ago I was called about a dog on the streets in Thailand…

🛻 Had been hit by car
🪨 Locals didn’t want her there and threw rocks at her
🤒 She had skin disease and was very old

I local man begged us to save her… (1/6) 🧵 Image
Image
As soon as I got to her I could see her fur was all gone but also her nose was being eaten away by an infection (2/6) Image
Image
She was utterly broken at first but she was as gentle a soul as you would ever meet. Maybe 10-12 years old.

I called her Biscotti. Along with medicines and baths she got lots of rest, good food and love

This was the first ever picture I was sent of little Stormzy. He had been hit by a car and had a brain injury.

His owner was told he had to be put to sleep. But he didn’t have the money to do it.

You won’t believe how good Stormzy looks now… (1/6) 🧵 Image
He couldn’t even stand up when he came to us. His body was all twisted and his brain didn’t work (2/6) Image

It took a lot of medicines, training and patience to get him back on his feet.

I must have seen Stormzy fall over 1000 times but he always stood straight back up (3/6)

It’s been a very tough week and am exhausted but had been sent this picture 3 days ago.

I couldn’t finish without going to find the dogs… (1/5) 🧵 Image
Tracked her down. Locals told me she was as hard to catch and ran away from them all.

Quite the opposite really (2/5)
I’m hopeful that we can fix her up well.

She’s incredible skinny and her skin is in agony. Her ears and parts of her are bleeding from scratching herself so much (3/5) Image

Jimbo all alone on the streets 12 days ago. His little body was in a horrendous state.

He wasn’t going to last much longer.

Today we have him back smiling… (1/5) 🧵 Image
I’d love to say his recovery has been easy but it hasn’t.

With such severe anemia and bad blood as well as horrendous stomach issues Jimbo went downhill for about 8 days (2/5) Image

I’ve never seen a dog sleep so much.

He is very young at maybe 2 years old but his body was just broken and starved.

He couldn’t even walk 100 yards without needing to sleep again (3/5) Image
