Kingdom Building! 🧵

God’s people cried out for a king; a man like the nations around them! They were seeking an earthly kingdom ruled by man instead of one ruled by the LORD God! How do we know this? The prophet Samuel was told this by the LORD Himself!

1 Samuel 8:4-10
Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways:

Be Strong and Courageous!🧵

No matter what we face in the days ahead, we can be confident that the LORD will be with us, when we are with Him! What strength and courage we should have knowing this truth!

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

These Things I Have Spoken! 🧵

John recorded the Words of Jesus below. Jesus knew we would need to be reminded of this very important truth as we walk through this life! In this world, we will encounter tribulation, but He promises to be with us each step of the way, and reminds us here that He has overcome the world! Knowing this will give us peace, even through the darkest days we face!

How Are You Living? 🧵

Do you know what time it is? Many years ago now the LORD impressed upon my heart that it was the eleventh hour! I took that to mean that the hour that was upon us then, would shortly escalate into the time for all the events we read about in His Word that must happen shortly before Jesus returns.

False Pretenses!

A pretense is a profession, rather than a real intention; it is making believe, or putting on a false show. Pretending!

A pretentious person would be one presenting an outward appearance that masks who they really are! Jesus criticized the Pharisees for their pretentiousness!

Matthew 23:27-28
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

His Reflection! 🧵

We are to be the reflection of the LORD to those we encounter each day! When others speak to us, or even when they pass us by, do they see His reflection? When God created all that is, He declared that He (the triune God) was creating us in His image!

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.

Shine Brighter!

The world will become darker and darker as we await the return of Jesus! There is no doubt, as the Word of God tells us this. Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Fix Your Heart! 🧵

What will shake you? When our hearts are fixed, we will not be moved or fearful when we see or hear something that causes concern for ourselves or for someone we love! What does it mean to have your heart fixed?

We must have predetermined and settled on the fact that no matter what we see with our eyes, or hear with our ears, we know that the LORD is in control! His purposes will prevail!

Welcoming Destruction! 🧵

When we allow the enemy into our lives, our churches, our cities, and our countries, we are welcoming destruction! No one would actively pursue their own destruction, yet in the name of peace, unity, love, and tolerance, so many have done so, and are doing so! Think — “I knew you were a snake” poem!

Clinging to the LORD! 🧵

Being “clingy” usually has a very negative connotation, but clinging to the LORD does not! In fact we are told to cling to Him to the end! David was in the wilderness when he penned the Words in the Psalm below. His Words speak of clinging to the LORD!

The Isle of Patmos!

Some of the greatest times of growth, and spiritual revelation in the life of a child of God are often born out of adversity! When we think of the stories of the men and women in the Bible, we can clearly see the truth in this!

Look at Abraham, having the pain, and heartbreak of having to take his beloved son to offer as a sacrifice.

Before I Formed Thee! 🧵

Everything we were meant to be was in the heart of God from the very beginning! Think about that if you can wrap your mind around it! The Word of God through Jeremiah tells us that before God even formed us in our Mother’s womb, He knew us, and had plans for our lives!

Are You Alone On An Isle Of Patmos?

Where do you find yourself today? When John was given the Revelation of Jesus Christ he was alone, exiled on an island for speaking the Word of Christ, and testifying of Him! Revelation 1:9
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the Word of God, and for the Testimony of Jesus Christ.

Be Careful that the Light in you is not Darkness! 🧵

Luke 11:35
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Do you belong to His church? Are you among the few who are on the narrow path to heaven?

Matthew 7:13
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.

Lord, Keep our eyes fixed on You, keep our hearts fixed on You. Though we walk through life surrounded by snakes, and by wolves in sheep clothing, help us to have Your discernment, and not to fear. Thank You that even if a viper attaches itself to us, we like Paul will shake it off, and suffer no harm. That people may marvel at Your great power to Your children.

Setting Our Will To His — Overcoming Despar!

Sometimes we don’t ‘feel’ like moving forward. Sometimes it ‘feels’ like our lives will always be ruled by our past, or the consequences of our sins. Sometimes we may ‘feel’ distraught by what ‘feels’ like an endless cycle of hope and despair.

In these times of hopelessness and despair, we must remember that faith is not a ‘feeling’!

Faith is believing in the faithfulness of the LORD and His Word!

Don’t Shrink Back!

Did you begin your journey with the LORD with zeal and determination to follow Him always, to obey His Word, to love and serve Him with all your heart? Where are you today? Have you shrunk back from that? Are you continuing to stand up and stand strong against evil, or have you fallen back into it?

The Breath Of The LORD!

Our very breath comes from the LORD! His breath gave man life in the beginning at creation, and His breath sustains us each day that we live. Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Job 12:10
In Whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Thy Kingdom Come!

When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, one thing He said was that they should pray to their Father in heaven that His kingdom would come, and that His Will would be done on earth just as it is done in heaven! As I thought about this part of what has become known as the LORD’S prayer, it struck me that this prayer won’t be fully answered until Jesus reigns upon this earth during the millennium!

Perception!

How do you view the world? How do you view other people? How do you view yourself?

Perception is defined as ‘physical sensation interpreted in the light of experience.’ Often we look at the world, ourselves, and others based on things that have happened to us in the past. Did you grow up in a family that was filled with strife and division? Were your parents divorced? Were you abused?
