Five years ago, on March 13, 2020, our world turned upside down.

Schools shuttered, lockdowns loomed, and fear gripped our nation.

For me, it wasn’t just a disruption—it was a wake-up call.

I was serving on my local district school board in 2020 and I started speaking out.

Even in the free state of Florida, my superintendent and school board were too weak to lead. I saw the harms of endless closures and blanket mandates firsthand.

I wasn’t alone—parents everywhere were waking up. We refused to let our kids bear the burden of protecting adults.

That raw energy led to the creation of @Moms4Liberty, a movement to give parents a voice against overreach. @MomsForLiberty #ParentalRights

My 10yo son was forced to mask all day long at school with no breaks except for lunch.

He had a hard time focusing in the classroom & the mask was making his attention issues harder to manage.

One Sunday night in early 2021, he shared the scariest thing I have ever heard from one of our kids. 1/ He came to my husband & me in tears and said he didn’t want to live anymore if he had to wear a mask all day at school.

I cried after tucking him into bed that night and vowed to my husband this would change. 2/

I sat at a bar tonight next to a man that asked me where I was from.

I told him I was from Florida and in North Carolina for an event tomorrow.

He said he was a psychologist and asked what I did for a living.

I told him I was the cofounder of @Moms4Liberty.

He knew me. We chatted for an hour.

I told him that there are two sexes, zero genders and infinite personalities. There is no right way to be a boy or a girl.

He asked me how I know.

Concerned citizens read explicit content tonight from challenged books in my home county.

The board previously voted to keep the books, but tonight they voted to remove the books from the schools.

The content was so explicit the chair had to keep stopping speakers. The school board chair let every speaker have 3 minutes except for one person. @REVWUTRUTH was cut off & forced to leave the meeting- escorted out by police & not allowed to re-enter the building.

That’s after they misplaced his speaker form. Not sure how that happened… 🤦‍♀️
