Stephen King is testifying now in DOJ's antitrust case against Penguin/Simon & Schuster. Laughter in the courtroom as DOJ attorney asks King to state his occupation.
"My name is Stephen King. I’m a freelance writer."
King is recounting the early part of his career. He says by the 1980s, after multiple best-sellers, he was satisfied with his compensation.
"As far as I was concerned, I was living the dream. I was writing full-time and the bills were paid."

Day 10 of the Michael Sussmann trial is underway in federal court in D.C. Closing arguments will begin soon.
Prosecutor Jonathan Algor begins closing statement returning to theme of gov's case: Privilege. He says Sussmann used his privilege as a "high-powered Washington lawyer" and friend of Jim Baker to "bypass normal channels and expediate a meeting."

Day 9 of the Michael Sussmann trial is underway and defense says Sussmann does not plan to testify.
There's a dispute over the defense wanting to admit reports of Jim Baker's prior FBI interviews that defense says contradict what Baker said at trial and Baker says don't accurately reflect what he told the FBI.
Gov says defense should have to call those agents as witnesses.

Day 8 of the Sussmann trial and it begins with an admonishment from Judge Cooper toward prosecutors, who suggests their questioning of Robert Novaick yesterday ran afoul of evidentiary rulings.
"Let's keep it clean from here," Cooper says.
Cooper is upset that some of the questioning went to the accuracy of data collected and analyzed, which he had ruled pretrial that gov could only argue if defense opened the door.

First up though is Trisha Anderson, one of Jim Baker's deputies in the FBI general counsel's office. She has no memory of the details of the Alfa Bank allegations.

Day 4 of testimony in the Michael Sussmann trial and former FBI General Counsel Jim Baker will take the stand for a third day. Cross examination to resume this morning.
Baker back on the stand and Sussmann lawyer Sean Berkowitz continuing to hammer the memory theme. Points out that Baker previously said the meeting lasted only 15-20 minutes and couldn't recall whether follow up meeting with Bill Priestap was over phone or in person.
