Ella fled to Bulgaria with her 13-year-old daughter to escape the war in Ukraine. The problem: Ella has a pacemaker that urgently needs to be replaced by now. However, the corresponding device is not available in Bulgaria. Yesterday we were able to successfully execute our first evacuation.
Andrey comes from Donetsk, suffers from cerebral palsy since birth and was in a children's hospital in Dnipro for three weeks with several epileptic seizures per day. They asked for his evacuation. Image Through various orgs, we were able to bring Andrey by ambulance first to Chișinău, where he was cared for some time in a municipal clinic. After further treatment was guaranteed, he could be flown out to Leipzig yesterday, where he is now being treated at the university hospital. Image

Unfortunately, the water supply in occupied and frontline areas in Ukraine is permanently disrupted. Some time ago @wirpackensan gave us the opportunity to get 15 000 water treatment tablets from @Aquatabs for the frontline and occupied areas. This will make it possible to filter almost 15 million liters of water. It is the first part of a larger project of us and @forPEACE_news Inc. with which we want to restore the water supply in the above mentioned areas in the long term.

Just heard about two kids from our refugee hotels who went into ketoacidosis because they were lacking insulin. Health insurance for refugees is now finally legally granted (after two months without) but still lacking implementation. And our funds are running low Even the local children clinic is running low on resources because they still have to pay for the treatment of UA refugees themselves

Thanks @diddabee for calling us a "powerhouse" (whatever that is) 🥰 We are very proud to be part of this network of highly engaged people commiting all their time to help UA wherever it is possible. It shows that ANYONE can make a difference if they really WANT IT.

We're also looking for support concerning cancer therapy. Funds and/or medicines needed. Yesterday alone, we found lumps in the breast of three patients examined. The diagnosis alone will cost several hundred euros. Should chemotherapy follow, the costs will amount to several thousand euros. Per person!!
