Q: Did Jainism originate from Vedas?
A: In our country, kids are taught since childhood that vedas are mother of all Indic faiths and so is Jainism. We shall analyse this perception in this thread:

understanding of problem of life, or soul. Far from having received periodic additions, it has descended to us in its original form and although a few schisms have taken place in its constitution during last 1,800 years or so, nothing of importance has been added to or

Q: Many people especially non vegerarians question non violence as per jain Dharma. They say jains eat plants, take breath etc that's also violence.
A: In this thread, I'll clear their doubt.
For this, I need to specify some words used in jain Philosophy which r as below
1/n 1. Worldly living beings r of 2 types- Tras and Sthavar
Tras means living beings with 2 to 5 senses
Sthavar means living beings with only one touch sense.
2. There r 10 prans (life power) - they r 5 senses, 3 power (thought, speech and body), breathing and age (life span)
Analysis : Since the time I m active on twitter, I noticed several guys attacking digamber Jain saints on the grounds that they don't wear clothes.
They attack due to their wrong or no understanding of Jain Dharma.

Q. Is Jain Dharma an offshoot of Hindu Dharma?
Analysis
Since time I'm active on twitter, have witnessed several people who r adamant on saying that Jain Dharma is an offshoot of Hindu Dharma. Some even didn't read scriptures and say so just because it was fed in their mind 1/n
Some others give instances of Bhagwat Puran which says bhagwan Adinath was founder of Jain Dharma and incarnation of Vishnu. It's wrong. In Adi Puran, last 10 births of Bhagwan Adinath r mentioned and his name was not Vishnu in any of them. 2/n
