My husband was diagnosed 9 years ago. They gave us an 8-10 life span but he is doing incredibly well. he had a higher level thinking job working for a pharmaceutical company so he was able to take long-term disability. There is no way he could work with any executive function since 2015. ( debatable if actually 2014 but he won president’s trophy, so we tease he could do it with half a brain, so why can you ;)
He has a phenotype of FTD which is what Bruce Willis also has.
One doctor early on said dementia is equivalent to a bob on the water. Some days it’s floating and fine. Other days it’s taking on some water and it can actually go underwater. That’s pretty much our life. Makes things very difficult to plan. There are some days where he is so with it no one would probably be able to tell unless they knew him very well. Last week I had a couple people ask me if he was getting worse he displayed so many symptoms.

Adoption thread.
15 years ago I was sitting at a baby shower and got the call we had been matched to our daughter. China chooses the child for you. You have no input. I had to race home and wait for the computer to pull up her image to see her. Jaing
Xiao Liao was her name.
It took us until Sept 26 to finally meet her. She was in an orphanage in Guangxi which is in a tropical area of China. By Vietnam.
The orphanages are combined with the nursing homes there.
