AUOB’s decision to postpone it's Edinburgh demonstration exemplifies the values of the Scottish people, who have a long and proud tradition of opposing racism and fascism. (1)
Big numbers are required for the counter protest and this can only happen with Scotland united, so we simply can't march in Edinburgh on the same day this is taking place in Glasgow. We'll update everyone with the new date for the Edinburgh march once agreed with the council. (2)

Yesterday Edinburgh City Council decided to refuse permission for All Under One Banner (AUOB) to hold a march from Calton Hill to the Parliament, taking place tomorrow 25 September. (1)
The reason given was that a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order requires a minimum of 8 weeks. Earlier this week justification by Council officials for refusing this route was given to be due to objections by Police. (2)

It has been encouraging to hear Police Scotland are willing to facilitate the procession on Saturday from Calton Hill to the Parliament. (1)
Now this is the case we call on @Edinburgh_CC to grant immediate official permission for the #AUOBEdinburgh march on Saturday, as the @EdinburghPolice previous position of not taking responsibility has been the only obstacle in the way. (2)

1, Earlier this week we announced we can and will safely stage one socially distanced static Demo every month until such a time that we can call a mass gathering as a March- which will be one point after Phase 4 has begun; but in the meantime it's vital to do what can be done..
2, We announced the first 3 Demos- July 20 at the Scottish parliament, Aug 19 at Bannockburn field and Sept 17 at George Square- each one symbolic in its own way. To ensure the safety of participants & the public we have to carefully limit the numbers of those who can take part..
