I really wonder how long people who think of themselves as rational and progressive will continue to tie themselves into knots to explain how men breastfeed or to condemn violence in the most general terms before they have to admit to themselves and us that there's a pattern. 1/5
The current form of trans rights activism is impossible without gaslighting and violence. It would be bad enough if that was a bug, but it's a feature.
Because women refuse to call themselves menstruators or birthing bodies.
Women refuse to share changing rooms with men. 2/5

Today I came across the concept of epistemic injustice, since philosopher Miranda Fricker's 2007 book of that title came out in a new German translation. Reading reviews and a Wikipedia article, I found the concept applies very much to gender ideology. 1/9 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistemic…
Superficially, epistemic injustice is the idea that knowledge is power, and I find it striking how many proponents of gender identity theory have an academic background, while it's ordinary, often vulnerable women (e.g. prisoners, non-native speakers) who are affected by it. 2/9

I will not leave the left. But the left has left me. I still believe in class analysis, but the left now propagates self-identity politics. 1/14

The woke left is aware of the exploitative nature of capitalism but doesn't wonder why so many big corporations fly trans flags.
The woke left is aware of how mainstream media rigs news in favour of the ruling class but doesn't wonder why mainstream media agree that TWAW. 1/4
The woke left is aware that Silicon Valley is overwhelmingly white male middleclass but doesn't wonder why all the big tech platforms ban radical feminism.

Declaration:
1. I firmly believe that feminism is the most important human rights movement of all, because sexed based oppression is the most consistent, pervasive oppression of all. Women are half of humanity and there is no country on earth, nor ever has been, where 1/5
we are fully equal to men. Moreover, every form of oppression intersects with sex based oppression, and male supremacy plays a major part in every form of oppression. Masculinity fuels homophobia, racism, social inequality, imperialism, the destruction of our planet etc. 2/5

I've noticed that many GC people on Twitter are readers, so I thought this is a good time for a thread on GC people who are writers.
If you can, find out if your local indy bookshop does deliveries and order their books there, or buy their e-books.
Please add anyone I missed.
J. K. Rowling @jk_rowling came out in support of @MForstater. I don't have to introduce "Harry Potter" to anybody, but she is also the author of the "Cormoran Strike" crime fiction series (as Robert Galbraith). jkrowling.com/writing/

This is a message to all trans rights activist who call gender critical people right-wing, and to all right-wing people who tell left-wing gender critical people that we brought this on ourselves: 1/8
There’s nothing left-wing about denying women the right to have boundaries, to meet and organise, to have safe and fair sport competitions, to have safe male-free spaces, and to have words for ourselves and our body parts. 2/8

Gender critical feminism is white feminism.
Because it is mostly privileged women who will find themselves in prison, or in need of a rape or homeless shelter.
Gender critical feminism is white feminism.
Because it is mostly privileged women who will have to make a choice between waxing a stranger's testicles while their children play in the adjoining room, or closing down their home operated business.

The phrase “trans exclusionary” is misleading.
Gender critical feminism is not about inclusion or exclusion. It is based on the premise that the meaningful difference between men and women is their biological sex, not their gender identity. 1/8
We believe this for two reasons:
1. Sex is relevant. Women and men have different reproductive roles based on their sex, need different medical care and perform differently in sports because of their different bodies, and sexual attraction is based on sex. 2/8

There are currently many court cases and new organisations concerned with gender ideology in need of funding. In case you're looking for a worthy cause to donate to in the spirit of Christmas, I tried to assemble a list:
James Caspian is challenging the Bath Spa University’s refusal to allow him to research detransitioners.
