How “gender affirming care” is being practiced in North America is not how it’s practiced in Europe. Gender affirming care is based on the Dutch research of 50 adolescent patients (one of whom died of an infection after surgery). The Dutch team says that North Americans are misusing their research. The Dutch model carefully screens patients and is not applicable to this new cohort of young people identifying as “trans”.

Europe is taking a stand against medicalizing minors except in extreme cases …

I’m not sure I understand how seeing all human relationships through the lens of a patriarchy is any different than seeing everything through the lens of queer theory or CRT. I really value an ability to see utility in lenses without being slaves to them. Slaves only value persons according to their place in a certain highly structured framework. Human beings become mere pawns in reordering society. It makes for dismal interpersonal relationships. We see that in trans activism all the time.

1992 - I marched as a dyke in Winnipeg. It was before “Pride” there. About 100 people marched. Skinsheads circled our group in their black vans. Protesters heckled from the streets.

Something I’ve been afraid to say publicly: I used to be a clinician in trans medicine. I did hormone readiness assessments for youth until I read through the research & discovered the truth for myself. Queer Theory has taken over gender medicine.../ ... I voiced my concerns about current practice on a trans community of practice listserv & was blacklisted & smeared. Youth and families aren’t being well supported by the informed consent model. There’s no safety net and we’re lying to them about what gender dysphoria is.../
