I want to say something else that is not going to be easy to hear. I was speaking to a Covid ICU nurse a couple weeks ago and she said something that needs to be repeated. “If you are morbidly obese, Covid is coming for you and it will be dire.” As most of you know, I have been on a health journey this past year. I didn’t do it to “lose weight,” but because I put my health first, it has led to me losing almost 50 pounds. I feel better. I have more energy. I’m setting a better example for my children. Mine and my family’s journey with COVID…a thread…

I was exposed to Covid at a work event by a woman who was fully vaccinated. She had come to the event with a few sniffles but thought nothing of it because she had been vaccinated…so surely it wasn’t Covid. Two days later, my 8 year old spiked a sudden fever of 102.5 and seemed tired. We gave him a test and he was positive. With a household of 10, we braced for the inevitable…caring for 10 Covid positive people at one time. The next day, my 8 year old was back to his normal self like nothing
