@M_Farmaajo misleadingly thought that he is in control!

Little did he know that Mogadishu harbours, armed "intergenerational fighters" who decided to hibernate because of the political progress that Somalia made in the last 10 years. In the name of "mandate extension,.. the "president" unwisely played the only game that these intergenerational fighters perfected in the last 30 years, urban warfare. Now, they are on the streets & the president & his political sycophants are unsurprisingly using @TheVillaSomalia not as symbol of national unity,..

It was indeed a bizarre if not a political suicide for @M_Farmaajo to declare the need for a "Somali- owned, Somali-led engagement to form a government by the people for the people in line with the best global practices," not in Mogadishu but in Kinshasa! While the accidental visit & the speech did not advance Farmajo's political ambition, it is a lesson for him & his speech writers. For Farmajo, the lesson lies in the reflection on the opportunities he squandered at home for the last 4 years to adopt "best global practices"..
