@MahaAmatya had asked me a while ago to share the hidden gem I unexpectedly discovered in the Viṣṇusahasranāma. Images below are my Saṁskṛta exposition on it for those who'd like to read it in Saṁskṛta. I'll try to briefly explain it in English in the next few tweets. 1/25 While studying the Viṣṇu-sahasra-nāma (VSN) a few months ago, I realized that the last 2 verses summarily narrate the biography of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. The penultimate verse narrates His childhood expolits, whereas the final verse recounts His life after leaving Gurukula. 2/25

(1/5) You must have recently learned the words naïve & naïveté given the frequency of use. Good for you! Also, I called you an andhabhakta, not a bhakta. Don't misquote me to play victim. Replace Hitler with Anti-hindu in the image below & you get an average BJP e-fanboy/fangirl: In the next tweet you call us Jaichands. Fun fact: The real king Jaichand died fighting off a Ghurid invasion. The Jaichand synonymous with ‘traitor’ was a fictitious character created by a poet. Who's peddling fake news & reinforcing anti-Hindu slurs now, huh? 2/5

Daivaradhane: Unmistakably Hindu

Here's the promised thread. Mostly made of quotes from daivas, patris & eminent Tuluvas, it's irrefutable on grounds of cultural appropriation/imposition. I have merely paraphrased their words & supplanted them with a few more proofs. 1/32 Daivaradhane is a unique tradition of worshipping local protector spirits in Tulunadu region of Karnataka. These ceremonies also serve as a dharmika judiciary resolving all sorts of local conflicts. The daivas are known for their benevolence & strictness. 2/32 Image

The controversy sparked by the wonderful Kannaḍa movie ‘Kantara’ & its depiction of daivārādhane, or the worship of protector spirits in the Tul̥u-speaking regions of Karnataka, calls for a thread on how our culture has been, & is being attacked by enemy factions. 1/25 The miscreants are now attempting to drive a wedge between Hindus of tribal descent & the rest of the Hindus by suggesting that the Bhutā kola is an avaidika practice & that the ritual has been culturally appropriated by us ‘vile Brahmins’. This isn't a new tactic. 2/25

I'm seeing many Indians rejoicing at Mr. Sunak's appointment as UK's PM. If it turns out well for India that'd be great, but it's about time we understand that such ‘People of Indian-origin’ are NOT Indians. Rather, they're likelier to do us harm than good. 1/4 As we say in Marāṭhī, “बाटग्या कोंबड्याची बांग मोठी” (Loosely: A converted rooster crows louder than a real one). This very much applies here. Most ‘Indian-origin’ people would naturally take an anti-India stance to appear loyalist & impartial. 2/4

@terrencehoward's “proof” isn't mathematically sound; but as a post-grad maths student, I can assure you that 1×1=2 is not necessarily wrong. In fact, this brings up some important issues with elementary mathematical pedagogy which I shall dicuss in this thread. 1/n While Mr Howard worded it badly; his fundamental point is: If a×b means adding a to itself b times, then 1×1 should be 1+1= 2. While seemingly absurd, it is indeed possible to define multiplication this way and there exist real life examples for it. Read on 2/n

This thread is an attempt to concisely put forth my views about the present-day degeneration of the Indian, particularly the Hindu, intellectual scenario, to pin-point its underlying causes, and propose conjectural solutions. Let me know your thoughts on it. 1/25 The Indian or the Hindu intellectual scene, is sadly, in a sorry state today. It's not the worst globally, but almost completely dominated by hyper-nationalistic & anti-nationalistic factions; making it virtually impossible to speak the truth which often lies in the middle. 2/25

@GhorAngirasa has demonstrated incompetent malice & exemplified how incorrect or partial translations can mislead a reader, & why it is important to beware of what we read online. I have attached images of his tweets so you needn't read his thread first if you haven't. 1/25 First, here are the images he has shared of some Garuḍa Purāṇa verses that seemingly puzzled him (for no good reason other than his lacking grasp of Saṁskṛta, or perhaps a vicious desire to spread toxic lies about Hindu scriptures & their true adherents). 2/25 ImageImageImage
