I really wonder what men who self-identify as feminist allies think their allyship is worth, that leads them to make ridiculous statements like “when I heard xxx it made me not want to step forward”. Ally don’t ally, the movement has always progressed with or without male help. The gains feminism has gotten has never been from men saying “oh we need to help these women”. It was taken by force, by protest, by death...rarely by a male helping hand. If you want to withdraw your support because you don’t like a few tweets, feel free.

The best gift I gave myself was freeing myself from the yoke of religion. For researching bible and Christian history on my own. For understanding that nobody is more anointed than the next and for seeing how religion has been used to promote hate, judgement and discrimination. Will never ever go back to that place that made me believe my natural human urges meant I’d burn i fictional flames. For not living my fullest life because of thousand year old words written by men fulfilling a personal agenda. Liberation was the goal and I’m achieving that.

It's actually really crazy that women are only fertile for about 6 days every month and for only half our lives. Men are fertile every single day of the year and almost the entirety of their lives, yet the burden of child prevention is placed on us. We have the pill, IUDs, IUS, diaphragm, female contraceptives, the sponge, the injection, the patch, the ring, the cervical cap, the implant. Men are only required to use condoms or get vasectomies.

Started out as an Intellectual Property Lawyer then a Maritime Lawyer then an Oil & Gas Lawyer and now an Energy & Gender Consultant. New beginnings are lit 🔥 I’ve been able to be so flexible in my career because I don’t really do long term goals. Nothing wrong with them but I’ve always felt if I’m fixated on achieving a particular goal in say five years and stick to strategically positioning myself to achieve it
