Several things about Brittney Griner's detainment give me pause.

Griner plays for a Russian team in the offseason and has for the past several years. Reportedly, some 3 weeks ago, Russia detained her after allegedly finding hash vape pens in her luggage at the airport. It was well-known she'd be entering the country to play for the Russian team, as that's her job and how she makes a living.

That means Russia expected Griner. And it happened to arrest her about a week before starting the war it had been planning?

Weird.

I absolutely agree with you for several reasons:

1) It defies logic for Trump—an established pathological liar—to suddenly start speaking truth, particularly about his health, and a disease he considers a weakness and has been trying to downplay for months. 2) If you have mild symptoms, why disclose having the virus, particularly when you don’t care about other people?

3) His political campaign took a hit with his antics at the debate, and he’s looking for what sympathy he can garner from teetering voters.

It's good that this law was passed, but it shouldn't have been necessary if law enforcement had any respect for citizens. But they can't even respect Kobe Bryant in death.

Also, this law is weak for a number of reasons...

apnews.com/article/califo… The penalty for selling crime scene photos is a misdemeanor with fines up to $1,000. That’s a joke if you’re selling photos to scandalous sites for 5-figures.

The law should make offenders lose any money gained from the photos. Plus, if it's an officer, they should be suspended.

One of the stealthiest weapons of white supremacy is advancing the monolithic myth that all Black people think and act a certain way.

Not only is that insulting but it robs us of our humanity—as it is intended to do. Despite that Black people ARE diverse with different mindsets and beliefs, white supremacy wants you to believe that we’re not dynamic, but predictable, simple, basic—like objects.

That lie enables white supremacy to widely advance negative stereotypes about Black people.

In the first sentence of her lawsuit against Donald Trump, his sister Maryanne and their late-brother Robert, Mary Trump says this about her family:

“Fraud was not just the family business — it was a way of life.”

nyti.ms/3mNXbBE Mary Trump says she’s suing for what she’s entitled to. I don’t fault her for that.

I do find it interesting that the lawsuit recycles many of the allegations in her recently released book.

That tells me this lawsuit was strategic. Here’s my take...

Wanton endangerment is a Class D felony in Kentucky.

Although it carries a minimum of 1 year in prison and a maximum of 5 years, those convicted of Class D felonies generally can avoid prison time by way of parole/pretrial diversion.

This is a slap on the wrist. #BreonnaTaylor To find Louisville Officer Brett Hankinson guilty of first-degree wanton endangerment would mean that he engaged in behavior that showed extreme indifference and created a significant danger to human life.

He's and his fellow officers are guilty of that and far more.

"[T]he unfortunate reality is that there is a very limited pool of black talent to recruit from." - Wells Fargo CEO Charles Scharf

The unfortunate reality is that Scharf is racist and peddling pathetic lies.

reut.rs/365ukmm Lest we not forget that less than one month ago, Wells Fargo had to pay $7.8 million to settle hiring discrimination claims.

The bank was accused of discriminating against some 34,193 qualified Black applicants.

It indeed appears that Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in Fulton County, Georgia earlier today. The hearing is set for Nov 4, 2020.

Wishing them both the best. Image In Georgia, an uncontested divorce (no fault) is most common.

Cardi filed a contested divorce, telling you that either she or Offset do not agree to the divorce and is willing to fight.

Contested divorces also tend to be expensive and long, involving investigators and experts.

Cramer felt entirely comfortable demeaning Nancy Pelosi to her face as he knew there would be no consequences.

This is sexism in action. When Nancy calls out Cramer for referring to her as "Crazy Nancy," notice how Cramer responds.

He has the quintessential "Can't you take a joke? You know I didn't mean it like that!" type of response that harassholes often give when called out for their misbehavior.

Like the South Dakota Attorney General, I grew up in a rather rural place. I also knew the difference between striking deer and human body with my car.

There's no excuse for this. The AG is protecting his interests, rather than speaking truth. That tells me more may be involved. I wouldn't be surprised if the AG was doing something he shouldn't have been doing at the time.

Regardless, South Dakota has a Good Samaritan law, which requires you render aid when someone is in need. He's going to have prove he didn't know it was a person he struck.

In this 6-4 decision, the majority got it wrong.

The Florida law requires those convicted of felonies to pay all legal financial obligations before being able to vote. How is this not an unconstitutional poll tax? The state of Florida alone accounts for 27% of the disenfranchised voter population nationally, and its nearly 1.5 million people disenfranchised post-sentence account for nearly half (48%) of the national total (Source: @SentencingProj). How is this legal? What is going on? The DOJ lawyers are arguing that, because Trump was President when he denied raping E. Jean Carroll, he was acting in his official capacity as President and thus is entitled to government counsel against her defamation suit.

These attorneys should be ashamed of themselves.
