1. He believes that you can worship other than Allah (literally uses the word worship) and it not be shirk as long as

- The one being worshiped isn’t independent of Allah (Demi-God)
- You don’t call it God
- You claim to be a Muslim
2. He believes that if someone worships other than Allah they are still Muslim with Iman as long as they affirm Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

3. He says that Tawheed isn’t the most important aspect of Islam so much so that someone can worship Jesus and still be Muslim.

Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdulwahab was not the only scholar to mention that Shirk, Kufr and immorality was widespread in the Muslim lands.

Scholars of different regions including Asharis mentioned similar.

I will share their statements in this thread. Ibrahim Al-Baijuri Al-Azhari (died 1276 AH) said:

“And such examples are many among people - among them are those who believe that the Companions are prophets, which is disbelief, and among them are those who deny resurrection.”

When does doing Ijtihad become a sin or disbelief and the scholar or judge isn’t rewarded?

Ashari Imams believe the Salaf were wrong for making Takfir of the Mu’tazilah

It is well known that the Salaf considered those who said the Quran is created and rejected the attributes of Allah to have committed Major disbelief but the likes of Al-Juwayni and Al-Ghazali disagree Al-Juwayni says:

“And the Iraqi scholars transmitted that Ash-Shafi’i excommunicated the one who said the Qur’an is created, and this is a least of innovation innovated by the Mu’tazilah.”

What does it mean when the Imams of the Salaf would say statements such as (بلا تفسير ) “without interpretation”, (تنزيله تفسيره) “it’s revelation is it’s interpretation”, (أمروها كما جاءت) “they ordered it as it came” and other similar statements. There are those who twist these statements of the Salaf in order to align it with Tafweedh hiding behind ambiguity, but claiming that these words imply Tafweedh goes against the foundational principles of the Arabic language and Fiqh the Salaf themselves established.

Istighatha: Seeking help, which is deliverance from hardship and affliction, and aid in being released from adversities. Ibn Al-Hubayrah mentions

especially considering these same people approve of the validity of modern day secular nation states that rose to power and authority in similar fashion.

These so called Muslim countries that are full of clear cut Kufr are valid to you even though they’re worse than Khawarij.

Requesting from the Prophet to make Dua to Allah for you after his death.

I will mention the three main types it comes in and what their rulings are. First of all this is separate issue to making Dua directly to the Prophet for him to fulfil your request, this is commonly known as Istighatha and is clear shirk.

Can a layman give Fatwa regarding an issue whose evidence he knows?

Ibn Qayyim in إعلام الموقعين عن رب العالمين 4/152 1. It is permissible If the laymen has knowledge of the ruling as it happened with its evidence like that of a scholar. And the scholar is better than the laymen because of ability to prove it’s evidence and defend it, that is an extra in knowing the truth with its evidence.

1. How the Salaf treated the Hadith of sitting attributed to Umar RA according to Al-Dhahabi

Does fighting and killing “Muslims” who profess the Shahada, believe in Allah & say they worship him alone, accept Muhammad as the messenger of Allah and are people of the Qiblah, make one from the Khawarij? There are many who say yes to this question believing that such an action only comes from those who are from the Khawarij

To understand this we will look back at the actions of the the Sahaba and most famously the wars of Apostasy.

Are actions from the foundations of Iman and can it take you out of the fold of Islam? There exists the deviant belief that actions are not a requirement for one to have Iman nor are actions in of themselves able to take you out of Islam.

Meaning that if you live without ever doing any action and simply believe in your heart then you’re a believer with Iman.

Imam Al-Tabari talks about the Ashari belief of Kalam Nafsi regarding the Quran.

He concluded that it is disbelief that takes one out of the fold of Islam. First what is the Ashari belief?

The Asharis believe in Kalam Nafsi which is the uncreated Quran from the speech of Allah in the heavens and that the Quran we have with us today on the Earth is created

1) Where did I attribute any statement or an Athar to Imam Malik? Those were the words of Khuwayz Mindaad in his own book with his own understanding of the Malikiyyah Before him, he didn't quote Imam Malik or say this is his speech, there's literally no isnaad needed.

Imam Abu Hamid Al-Isfarayini stance against the Ashairah and his Tabdee of Aba Bakar Al-Baqilani. Imam Abu Hamid Al-Isfarayini who was the Imam of the Shafi'iyyah in the 4th century and the biggest Faqeeh of the Madhab in his time, would disassociate himself from the Ashairah and would harshly rebuke their scholars as deviants such as Al-Baqilani.

Thread on Ashari Imams saying the Quran we have and was revealed onto the Prophet is created and their agreement with the Mu'tazillah. The only difference is that the Ash’ariyyah affirm the Kalam Nafsi whereas the Mu’tazilah do not affirm the Kalam Nafsi.

But both agree that the Qur’an we have today, we read in the Arabic and was sent to our Prophet is created.
