This came up chatting with my pal @AaronDries so I have to know. Apparently some people read anthologies and short story collections in some random way rather than reading the stories in their published order. What do you do? I ALWAYS read in order. An editor or author curates the order for a reason. I trust their vision. Same reason I don't listen to albums on shuffle! What monsters out there are flipping around in these books like complete psychos!?

We had a zoom meeting/class today, all the senior international instructors. It was good, some people up late at night, some up first thing in the a.m. But then something weird happened. I was in my study at home, some were in their schools, others in their lounge rooms, bedrooms, etc.

You guys know I'm also a martial arts instructor, huh. I've been running my classes online during this pandemic. But something weird has happened. I go into the studio because I don't have the space or the bandwidth to run the classes at home. But I'm alone in there, so distancing is no problem.

My personal mantra of "wallet, phone, keys" is changing. Those were always the three things I needed whenever I went out, but lately I frequently leave my wallet behind. My credit card, licences, travel cards, etc. are all on my phone. Phone and keys. It's weird. Before long, there'll be driverless cars amd electronic locks on buildings amd we won't need keys any more. Just a phone.

My son bought this gingerbread house cookie. That design... is it just me..? 😬 Update: My kid ate the cookie. He said it was delicious.

Coming out of the supermarket and there’s this guy. You know the kind, all bollocks and elbows. Walks like he’s carrying an imaginary piglet under each arm. He looks over to this young woman and says, “Hey, baby!”

She just scowls and looks vaguely disgusted.

“What’s the matter, you don’t like men?” he asks.

“Sure I do,” she says. “Let me know if you see one.”
