A planning application was made to Cork County Council for that purpose, by Lidl. While that application was deemed invalid on technicalities, I presume there will be another application made in time, amending those aspects of the original which made it invalid.

Some thoughts on the recent rainfall and flood events.
The Cobh Municipal District not affected to the same magnitude as Midleton, though several roads were badly damaged in the area, and water did get into several houses in Carrigtwohill and Glounthaune.

In the moment, I didn't do much really. Council staff, emergency services, voluntary groups, other local councillors, local residents, etc. responded brilliantly, getting on with the problem of responding to the immediate needs.
