Seven years ago, my wife's family took me to see this movie. It was one of the kindest things they've ever done, and one of the worst things that's ever happened to me. A thread:
My family has always been Poirot people, and her family are not. They're kind of old-school Sherlock people, but not committed to the stories. However, they understood my deep love for Poirot and they wanted to do something especially nice for me.
