Ready to combat the Sunday scaries?
Steal my STOP-BLOCK-ROLL routine ⬇️
1. STOP
What are the things that distract me, drain my energy and need to be stopped?
Usually unimportant meetings and random scrolling time.
2. BLOCK
My 3 non negotiables every week are:
- Family
- Fitness
- Deep work
Did I block my calendar to ensure I'm getting my human needs met?

The #1 thing I hear in my coaching sessions right now: I'm overwhelmed by everything I need to get done and I can't make progress towards my big goals.
Here's what I tell them ⬇️
There are 2 traps we all fall into:
🛑 The Significance Trap: thinking everything carries importance
🛑 The Urgency Trap: thinking everything needs to be done now
If everything is significant and urgent: NOTHING is.

Most people suck at launching something.
But if you use these secrets, I guarantee you your next launch will get noticed:
🧵
Build trust first
Trust takes time and showing up consistently with value. 90% of your content should give and 10% should take (sell).

8 Reasons we Procrastinate:
1. Fear of failure: if you expect to succeed at a task, you are more motivated to do it. The harder or more complex the task, the more likely you are to procrastinate.
2. Low value: The more you value a task, the more likely you are to do it.
When we procrastinate, it’s actually a sign that we may not see the correlation between the task and our larger goals and values.

Do you dread weekends as a parent?
Feel the struggle of balancing
- alone time
- time with kids
- time with partner
- being “adult” productive (getting non work things done)?
After 10 years as a parent and 6 years as a single mom I’ve figured it out…..feel free to steal. ⬇️
Saturdays are for adventure
Sundays are for relaxation
We separate the two so everyone knows what to expect.
But let’s break down what this means ⬇️

"There was no launch strategy because there is no mission or vision"
Ok....let's try this out.
Creating a brand strategy for X using a CMO approach.
Start with functional benefits - "what does the product do"
- Unlimited interactivity (share and receive thoughts)
- audio
- video
- messaging
- payments
- marketplace for goods, ideas, services
Working remotely has changed the way we need to show up for our employees to ensure growth and reduce anxiety.
6 tips to be a great manager right now when everyone feels the added level of stress due to layoffs.
In the absence of information - people make up their own.
This is the first thing they taught me in a change management leadership course.
Communicate what you are working on at the leadership level and what’s keeping the leaders up at night.

I’m working across 4 companies of varying sizes at the moment
Here are the most common causes of friction I see and how you can prevent them….
Clear strategic vision
With a clear understanding of where the company is headed (repeated over and over in every meeting), decisions can made at every level without the CEO in the room.
The teams have the destination and can figure out the best way to get there.

Personal OKRs help me set intentions with realistic / quantifiable milestones.
I believe I will make progress on a larger goal (objective) by hitting these (key results)
Sharing my process and 2023 OKRs below. ⬇️
🧵/
Step 1: Assess & Define Pillars
These change year to year (last 2 yrs were about stability & joy)
I journal this prompt to find themes “what do I want to be proud of this time next year?”

My dad is an incredible engineer.
He didn’t go to college.
He doesn’t have that title.
He is paid as a plumber and an electrician.
Two things I learned as his daughter…..
The circumstance you are born into can be the difference between a white collar engineer at Google or blue collar electrician.
Be thankful for the cards you’ve been dealt and be aware you are not that dissimilar to those around you.

Things I wished I knew about building a company from scratch as someone who has built 2 companies and managed through 3 exits.
There is no one magic growth pill.
So many people look for the "quick wins" or "viral moment"
Every single Kardashian talked about my product and sales spiked minimally.
Make a plan.
Give it attention.
Measure.
Iterate.
Stop jumping from tactic to tactic.

Some exciting news:
Today we announce House of Wise was acquired by a leading cannabis marketing firm to take the company to our next level of growth.
2022 has been a tough year for seed stage companies so I thought I'd share a bit of the journey to this point.
⬇️⬇️⬇️
I started House of Wise out of my garage in 2019 to help people drink less alcohol and make space in their day for better sleep, hotter sex, less stress and more strength.
We launched in market December 2020 with over 500 Wise Women.
Things I know at (almost) 37
I wish I had known at 27.
With 5 years of therapy.
Every year I reflect on the things I have learned and try to put them together as a reminder of how much we grow in a year.
I’ve had to learn many of these lessons the hard way or through over 5 years of weekly therapy.
Hope this is helpful.
