It discarded decades of precedent that allowed mere CONSIDERATION of race, while leaving legacy admissions, gender-based considerations, and the military academies untouched. Shameful. 2/

Buried in the stimulus passed last night are big wins for criminal justice reform and increased access to higher education.

nytimes.com/2020/12/21/us/… The ban on access to Pell Grants for incarcerated students was a piece of the 1994 Crime Bill that @joebiden opposed at the time, and reversing that ban is a huge advance that will support incarcerated students’ successful re-entry into society.
