Opting out of the body scanner at Heathrow used to take 5 minutes. Today it was a 30 minute procedure including documenting a written reason for exercising my right of refusal and signing a document, a thread: I came in through the dedicated Virgin upper class entrance, which has its own checkin, security and a different scanner. (Client paid expenses, don't hate :P) This is relevant because even though this experience sucked, I was treated better than anybody else would be.

Public and private ledgers are a useful access model distinction that's not going anywhere. What should disappear is the association of [public = decentralized = proletariat = good] and [private = centralized = big business = bad]. coindesk.com/public-private… We all know "public" projects that are actually very centralized, and there are lots of uses for private side chains that aren't bank consortiums. Sharding might address some of this (someday), but not all. And (😮) not all p2p applications need a blockchain. Shocking, I know.
