I have always said is that folks on the right will say racist stuff they believe in & then blame the left for their racism.

Ex: Charlie Kirk says if he were to see a black pilot flying a plane he was on he will question his qualification - not because he's black but because "the left" has made him skeptical of if he's an unqualified DEI hire. Forget the fact that most plane crashes happen under white pilots, this is just a reiteration of the whole racist "you're only here because of Affirmative Action" sentiment repackaged as animus toward DEI.

Fact is, some don't ever think black folks are qualified - they now can just use DEI as a scapegoat

If your whole Christian witness and platform is known more for what you’re against rather than what you’re for then you may need to do some self-inventory. As believers we are always engaged in a fight against the kingdom of darkness but sheesh! Embattlement can’t be your… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… I’m still “reformed” of course but as I always say I have made a departure from reformed culture - which is now imo full of the theobros (I actually think it always was) and I just remember that we always had to be against something and debating someone on their bad theology.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Stories u don’t get to hear about often is civilians w/guns neutralizing active shooters or being able to defend themselves in a situation in which a gunman is trying to harm them. Civilians defending themselves with firearms happens more than we know. It’s not reported on a lot texasmonthly.com/articles/steph…

The religious right movement has convinced some evangelicals out here that the right is not just as carnal or secular as “the left” and it’s mystifying how they let a veneer of Christianity deceive them into thinking that their side of the spectrum is the “Christian” one. That’s why talking about the secular right is important because there are Xians out there that think that only “the left” is secular/carnal. Neither the left or right wing political movements are Christian. One is just better at pandering to xians due to some intersecting values.

If you claim to be a critical thinker full of intellectual integrity then you cannot have this mindset when thinking through politics/culture:

Anything to the left of what I already believe cannot be true.

Anything to the right of what I already believe cannot be true. If you think nothing to the left of what you already believe cannot be true because everything to the left is wrong then you’re not really willing to be as critical/honest as you claim. The same goes if you think nothing to the right of what you believe cannot be true.

"The evangelistic desire to minimize offense to gain a hearing for the gospel can obscure what our political moment requires."

Essentially saying the “political moment” is the main driver. When is the “political moment” to be the main thing leading a Christian’s political ethic? Our political ethics —which should be informed by the biblical ethics of scripture—shouldn’t change depending on the “political moment.” The social witness and ethic that scripture requires of us is concrete no netter what the “political moment” is.

Sound doctrine and theology matters. It’s of extreme importance. But simply being able to articulate theology or being passionate about defending the truth against error doesn’t somehow make you safe from God’s judgement and displeasure. Peep the church of Ephesus in Revelation 2 You can have all the doctrinal vigilance in the world! You can defend against false prophets and false teaching with all truth and conviction and still have abandoned your first love and love of others. Repentance was in order for Ephesus in this context.
