First, I was at the AGM. The resolutions were handled politely. But by a huge majority, we saw them for what they were. First: Let’s be clear: the so-called ‘free speech’ proposal was a screen. At stake was the proposers’ insistence on their ‘right’ to deny the existence and rights of another group of human beings. What they described as a freedom of speech issue, I saw as a human rights issue.
