I think basically, yes, we're in long term change. I often put the date strangely enough, back in 1776, which is a very interesting year. It's a year that some people know because the American Revolution, it's the year that my tribe–economists–know
because it's the publication of the Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. But it's also probably most importantly, the year in which James Watt commercialized his steam engine. And to my mind that changed everything, more than probably any invention beforehand.
