The Sengol is a reminder of our legacy and history, a representation of our common aspiration to be governed by our own people.

We were never an attractive destination for manufacturing because we never aspired to be one.

Even those PSUs in the state that were functioning well were systematically disassembled by Trade Unions in the second half of the Twentieth Century. Those Industrial sites that did exist in Kerala were also systematically deprived and diminished due to a combination of short sighted politics, social factors, and not to mention biggest culprits, Trade Unions.

In some cases, such as that of KEL Kasargode, bad stratergy also.
