Microplastics.

They’re not just something that floats in the oceans and kills fish. They’re in your food, water, clothes (and testicles)…

But did you know they put microplastics in your beauty products on purpose?

Let’s dive in. 🧵

Microplastics are found in everything around us. They come in many shapes, sizes and forms.

They are tiny, invisible to the human eye and highly toxic.

The average human consumes anywhere from 39000 to 52000 pieces of microplastics in a year!

Cosmetics today have a lot of questionable ingredients. But 3 of them are worse than others.

Let’s look at them and see why you should avoid these 3 ingredients in your creams and cosmetics (and what to use instead).

🧵 a thread Image 1. PETROLATUM ⛽️

Petrolatum or petroleum jelly is nothing more than a crude oil butter.

It was invented at the end of the 18th century and never fully purified.

It has come to my attention that some small brands from the industry talk nonsense about our products.

So I'm here to set the record straight.

And offer you the best incentive to try some for yourself (at the end of the thread).

Time to get out of that van, man.

It all begins with ingredient sourcing.

Popular face cream.

Nice & blue, called “hydro-boost” & “water gel” so it must be good.

Water is good, right?

But this is more like microplastic soup than a skincare product.

Let’s review this can of worms. 🧵 Image Here are the ingredients:

Sunscreen is bad for you.

You probably heard this a lot. But why is sunscreen bad?

It comes down to 2 main reasons.

Let's talk about them. 🧵 Image Humans live on this planet for hundreds of thousands of years. And during most of that time, we did 2 things:

1. We rarely wore any clothes
2. We spent our days mostly outside

☀️ Sun was always our friend.

People think natural skincare needs to:

- smell bad
- be hard to use
- have 3 ingredients or less

This is a common misconception as real natural skincare should:

- smell great
- be as easy to use as common skincare
- have high-quality ingredients

There is a better way! Ancient Egyptians produced some of the most complex skincare products and perfumes ever known to men.

Getting regular sun exposure AKA "tanning" has numerous benefits like hormone regulation, increased Vit D, improved immune function…

But most people don’t get these benefits due to the overuse of carcinogenic sunscreens.

Here is your guide on how to tan without sunscreen. 🧵 Our ancestors never used sunscreen & they were not afraid of the sun. Sun was always a source of life & joy for them.

They did something else though.

Here are 9 tips on what our ancestors did naturally (and what we should do) to never burn on the sun & soak up all the benefits.

Seed oils are bad.

But have you ever thought about what makes them bad?

Is it the seeds?

Or the oil?

What if I told you not all seed oils are bad? It’s about how they’re made.

Here’s what I mean. 🧵 Humans use oils from seeds for thousands of years.

But we always extracted the oil in a particular way - by cold pressing the seeds with a heavy object such as a giant stone.

Your teeth are inside your skull & directly connected to your brain.

Fluoride toothpaste may be the worst thing to use if you want a healthy brain.

Here’s why. 🧵 Image That’s exactly why fluoride harms the brain and IQ.

Proximity matters.

Our body is not a group of individual organs & tissue - it’s a whole, connected and unified vessel. If one part is broken, the rest will suffer.

Recycled tires are all around us.

Children's playgrounds & school football fields all use recycled tires in the form of pellets called “tyre crumb”.

Recycling is cool but this may cause serious harm to our kids.

Here’s why. 🧵 Image Layne Kilpatrick, known as a hormone specialist on TikTok and Instagram shares these mind-blowing videos on hormone disruptors all around us.

His latest video inspired me to do a write-up and share it here as he doesn’t seem active on Twitter.

Your skin is the mirror of your health.

The skin will show you the condition of your body and give you direct cues on what to fix - but only if you know how to listen.

Here's your guide. 🧵 Image DRY & ITCHY SKIN

If your skin is excessively dry or itchy, it could be a sign of dehydration or a lack of essential fatty acids in your diet.

Make sure to drink enough water and include healthy fats in your meals. Things like beef tallow, ghee, coconut oil, olive oil... Image

Do you know what makes toothpaste a paste?

It's this gooey called glycerin.

And while glycerin may not be as toxic for you compared to other things in a common toothpaste it’s possibly the worst thing inside.

Here’s why. 🧵 (a thread) Image Glycerin is a cheap byproduct of biodiesel production.

It can be produced from many fats, including things like coconut oil and beef tallow.

But it’s much easier (and cheaper) to collect it from biodiesel production. Cheap seed oils like canola or sunflower are used for this. Image

#1 dentist-recommended brand. Marketing slogan or a revolutionary product?

When you turn the box around & look at the ingredients it’s all glycerin, microplastics, known carcinogens and worse.

Let’s see what’s inside. 🧵 thread Image Sensodyne is a trusted toothpaste brand many people go for to replace the standard Colgate or Aquafresh tubs.

A better alternative.

But is it any better or you’re just paying more for a sleek marketing slogan?

Toothpaste sucks!

Modern toothpaste belongs in a trash can and there is overwhelming evidence to support this.

Here are 7 things you should avoid when shopping for toothpaste.

🧵 a thread Image Toothpaste is food & should be treated as such.

First part is a production of seed oils. More detailed and funnier version is here 👇
