A lot of ill/half informed people out there regarding Sweden and NATO. This morning I read "Sweden should be allowed to join NATO". The idea that it would ever be prevented from doing so is ridiculous. The question is do the Swedish people want it? Thread - Sweden has not joined a military alliance since 1814 preferring to remain military neutral. That said, Sweden was in the front line against Soviet Russia through the latter half of the 20th Century and became a close ally of the West and a key NATO Partner.

In today's @heraldscotland, Kevin McKenna name checks me & claims the "Tories do not want us to know Scots history". I appreciate and enjoy reading views that differ from my own- but I'm afraid this column is completely (and I fear deliberately) wrong and misleading (Long thread) First let me take issue with something he says in his piece, "until a decade ago, the...majority of Scotland's citizens rarely, if ever, encountered history of their own land". This, in my experience of having had (an admittedly very good) comprehensive education is just not true
