Wow! In macro-economic terms that is a very substantial 'give-away' mini-budget. In the teeth of the Global Financial Crisis CX Darling put just over £21bn into the economy with a temp VAT cut (progressive) the headline. Today's (and May's) announcements inject £77.2bn in 3yrs /1
That is a bold gambit to boost the economy and emphasises the gravity of the situation. But does it just park the problem onto the future? fuel the inflation crisis? put greater pressure on interest rates? raise government borrowing costs as fiscal prudence is now gone? /2

Borders on the whole don't help anyone. We advanced as a society when we diminished their import. I would like my country to have free borders across the rest of the UK and Europe. That the UK wants to erect real borders to Europe is a matter of deep regret and damaging.
Now we are being told that as a country that eschews borders we must choose between a border to the wide continent of the European Union or the peoples with whom we share an island. This is a crying shame.

Is nationalism to want to stay in a community of independent nations rather than being dragged out against our will by a government celebrated by right-wing extremist strongmen? I am needing a new badge so asking for myself really.
Is it nationalism to want control of your own immigration policy so you can promote immigration & attract new citizens rather than have them demonised against our will by a government celebrated by right-wing extremist strongmen? I am needing a new badge so asking for me really.
