For 11 months now with 219 dead, 1,100 injured, 60,000 displaced – the #Manipurconflict continues.

We @reporters_co reviewed a report by Assam Rifles officials that partly blames CM @NBirenSingh for the conflict. (pt. 1 of 2)

Stay with me.

1/nshorturl.at/hkHMQ The report lays part of the blame on @NBirenSingh's "political authoritarianism & ambition" for inflaming the conflict.

Why is this important?

This is the first time a candid assessment of a govt agency on the #ManipurConflict has made it to the public domain.

#ManipurViolence

For the past 6 months, Manipur has been witnessing an ethnic conflict b/w the majority Meitei community & Kuki-Zo tribes.

After May 3, while killings continued, different machinery worked hard to define the narrative around the conflict.

Stay with me 1/n Social media platforms like X and Instagram were flooded with info, disinfo, hate, claims of victimhood and requests for solidarity.

All this EVEN as internet services remained suspended.

How was this possible? Who were the ppl posting and why? 2/n

In the past 6 mnths, I traveled across the country to gauge the impact of Covid-19. From students climbing a hill to write online exams in Nagaland, to a floating village's attempt to stay afloat in Manipur to how MP's health dept had goofed up, here are all the stories I found. This Manipur village floats between non-existence and a hard reality, made worse by Covid
