The hamlet of Marcel or Mashel in Goa can called the Temple Town as it houses more than 15 temples. One of the most prominent temples of Marcel is Shri Devkikrishna Devasthan where Sri Krishna is worshipped along with His Mother Devki.

This temple is associated with two major festivals besides Gokulashtami. One of them being Manni Punav which falls on Paush Pournima and the other one being Chikal Kalo which falls on the Ashadh Shukla Dwadashi when the monsoon season is on its peak.
