EA2010: with/without a GRC, a trans person can be excluded from single-sex services provided it's a proportionate means to achieve a legitimate aim. Forstater clarified protection of gender critical belief, incldg in the workplace. 1/2
vice.com/en/article/3ak… Ironically, EHRC guidance misstated the law and faulty guidance stood unchallenged for 10years. Which is why we hear so much above 'rights being taken away' and why we see this degree of confusion in the civil service.

A thread about Stonewall’s statement, “Our advice on the Equality Act is based on guidance provided by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which was recently affirmed in the High Court”. The ‘High Court’ is a reference to AEA v EHRC. 2.
Stonewall’s statement is sleight of hand. When SW asserts the right of trans people to access single-sex services, it relied on EHRC guidance documents, which stated that those with a GRC had right of access. Thanks to AEA, all documents corrected in July & Aug 2020.

This isn’t a case about a woman who has undergone bullying and discrimination with whom we can identify and sympathise, who tugs our heart strings and opens our purses. 2

A thread.

‘Every female academic silenced and threatened with loss of tenure, every woman harassed in her workplace or sacked from her job, every author silenced or dropped by her publisher, 1/ every woman cheated of the trophy or award that was rightfully hers,
every domestic violence refuge threatened with loss of funding and coerced into being ‘inclusive’,
every woman insulted on social media for merely stating a belief in biological reality, 2/
