If true, this is another nail in the coffin of the honesty, integrity and accountability promised by Rishi Sunak. This raises serious questions for both Nadhim Zahawi and the PM: 🧵

independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi… Why did Nadhim Zahawi claim last summer that he had paid his taxes in full, and that he wasn’t aware of an investigation? When was he made aware of an investigation?

Thanks for your letter @amandamilling

I’ll take a look when you reply to the letters I sent you on 3 and 11 August regarding your Co-Chair Ben Elliot, on 23 August on the Leaders’ Group and on 24 August on the PM charging taxpayers to fly to Teeside.

Reminders below 🧵 On 3 August I wrote to ask what action you were going to take against Mr Elliot following reports that his company arranged for its clients to access Covid-19 testing in April 2020 – a time when care homes couldn’t access the tests many of staff and residents needed.

No reply.

The Conservative Party has accepted tens of thousands of pounds in donations from companies that only exist on paper.

Yesterday I wrote to the Chief Executive of the Electoral Commission to call for an investigation into two potential breaches of electoral law.

A thread 🧵 Donation 1

According to the Electoral Commission website, the Conservative Party received and accepted a donation of £10,000 from Stridewell Estates Limited on 20 November 2019.

Stridewell's director was the property magnate and Tory donor Brian Gillies.
