President Ruto has pardoned Davy Koech, former KEMRI boss. Also pardoned is Ann Wangari Mungai, charged with Murder in Nakuru. She was convicted, sentenced to death on 26/7/2004. Her appeal was dismissed on 2/3/2007. The death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 2010.
The court of appeal while dismissing her appeal in Anne Wangari Mungai vs R described the killing thus,
