THIS JUST IN: After the success of Sunday's #TheMatch golf exhibition with Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady there are talks to make “The Match” an annual event featuring Woods and Mickelson with other athletes and celebrities. latimes.com/sports/story/2… Phil Mickelson told the @latimes: "I think you could showcase guys like Steph Curry and Michael Jordan or Tony Romo and Patrick Mahomes ... or you could have someone who loves the game and is competitive but is really entertaining like Larry David and Bill Murray."

LeBron James wanted ESPN to release #TheLastDance when COVID-19 stranded us at home but it wasn't done. John Stockton was interviewed the day before the season was suspended and only three episodes were done. Episode 9 was just locked in today. My column: latimes.com/sports/story/2… The original plan for #TheLastDance was to debut Tuesday, June 2, two days before Game 1 of the NBA Finals, with two episodes airing between games. It was basically going to fill the off-day gaps and wrap after Game 4. Instead, it has turned into a five-week cultural phenomenon.

I told Steve jokingly, 'If that happens, we’re moving the team to Seattle.' I really believed that.” latimes.com/sports/clipper… Doc Rivers on meeting Kawhi Leonard at Rivers' home in Malibu: "He said, ‘I want to play for you,’ and he pointed at me. He said, ‘Mr. Ballmer, I love the things you do and what you stand for, but your team is not good enough and if you don’t change your team, I’m not coming.’"
