Much has happened in Pakistan in just the past week, but the latest publicly available pol. opinion survey (conducted in late Mar.-early April) finds:

• 71% of respondents said they’d vote for Khan’s PTI
• 70% blame the current gov’t, the army*, or both for the present crisis. Image “PDM” refers to the current coalition government. “Establishment” is a euphemism used to refer to the army.

The survey was conducted by Pattan, an Islamabad-based NGO. Here’s the link to the full survey results:

The Pakistan Army's counternarrative right now focuses on the condemnable violence of May 9. But to be effective, it would require the public to forget the killing of Arshad Sharif, attempted murder of IK, recording naked videos of elderly ppl, dragging of ex-PM out of court, etc The army is trying to paint itself as a patient, restrained force for rule of law acting against forces of chaos & lawlessness. But the past year has put on display before the general public how the army acts with impunity as a caste above the law. Public won't forget overnight.
