Monogatari Series, from Nisioisin and SHAFT, teaches young persons basically two important things:

1.) Mental Illnesses and Personality Disorders of Young Women are caused by Demons and Evil Spirits.

2.) EXACTLY how much men and women need to COMMUNICATE in a relationship. Image If there is exactly one very important takeaway for young persons to learn from Monogatari Series, it is how openly, directly, and strongly Araragi and Senjougahara communicate. How deeply they delve into topics, how much they talk to each other is extremely important.

The biggest struggle of being a Millenial with ADHD is that the world that was literally built for us no longer exists. The world was entirely structured around optimizing for our ability to outsource memory tasks to digital. "Search" and finding information fast was our thing. For the boomers it was memorizing "literally everything" having everything known. If you couldn't you were useless, mostly. Then for our generation it was knowing where and how to find the correct information the fastest. Whole search engine algorithms were built and trained.

So 10 seconds ago I was talking about how Clamp's Magic Knight Rayearth and Cardcaptor respectively capture the Zeitgeist of the post-1989 Nikkei collapse and the Y2K run-up era.

Lyrical Shoujo Nanoha, a direct derivative work of CCS, does the exact same thing but for Post-9/11 Even the OP captures that mid 2000s era perfectly, a world of uneasy thoughts, heavy emotions, and the 24hr news cycle.

What's Nanoha about? Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Interdimensional Counter-Terrorism, and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Real Hot Take: actually Johnny Bravo and a lot of the cartoons haven't aged that well and you're blinded by tiktok era edits of the best parts and funniest moments.

A lot of these shows have an over-reliance on certain programing gimmicks which makes re-watching a slog. Even Samurai Jack suffers from this along with most things from the Genndy Era. You didn't notice it as a kid but they're not as good watching as an adult.

Mahou Shoujo is for General Audiences. Mahou Shoujo is "slice of life", "cute girls doing cute things" anime, interrupted by cool fight scenes and with an emotional fight agains the "big bad" from a tokusatsu or Shonen anime at the end of the season. Everyone can enjoy it. It has "girls living every day life" that little girls can relate to. It has pretty boys that older girls like. It has girl super heroes that they can look up to. It has cute girls doing cute things which guys like. It has cool fight scenes and neat monsters which guys like.

Uh no, Escaflowne is shoujo, the girls are ugly and boring with a visual design men find generally off putting. The COOL FUCKIN ROBOTS and GIANT SWORD FIGHTS WITH GIANT SWORDS BY BIG DUDE FIGHTING A ROBOT HOLY SHIT are the part for dudes in Escaflowne.

Also Dolphin man he's cool Image

IT also appeal's to men's fantasy of being an Edwardian Age Air Pirate with a flying battleship to launch his giant cool as fuck magical robots from. Image

CCS is CLAMP's deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre, much like Gundam which came before it, and gave us a new genre of "Real Magical Girl" and one big aspect of the critique was the "magical transformation sequence" where the magical girl magically gets a new outfit. Sakura is not some "Magical Girl." Kinomoto Sakura is a girl from a family with heightened magical potential and spiritual power who is scouted out by the fate bending sorcery of Clow Reed who is trapped into a trial of succession as an apprentice card sorcerer.

For the record: US Reactors use 3-5% enrichment (high efficiency), the RBMK reactors at St. Petersburg and Chernobyl used only 1.3-2% U235. 60% is not weapons grade that is suitable for a stand alone weapon, it is a highly enriched fast-breeder grade for rapid production of Pu239 (plutonium) the longer half-life isotope for implosion cores and thermonuclear fusion triggers. 60% is usable as a "tamper" the external shell of a fusion weapon to trigger additional yield of fission in a thermonuclear weapon due to the large mass that can be used safely that is fissile by the massive neutron flux produced by the fusion event. As an example, the intended uranium tamper for the Tsar Bomba would have spiked the yield to the 100Mt weapons category and detonating it with an inert tamper yielded in the 50Mt category. It's almost impossible to build any type of uranium fission device that can exceed 1Mt because it will "fissile" instead of "fission" where only a partial amount of the core will undergo fission as the uranium is vaporized and scattered. Hiroshima was destroyed by a 15Kt bomb that almost fissile, only converting a small percentage of its uranium into energy through fission.

The tamper avoids fissile by broadly spreading a large mass of fissile material rather than concentrating it where it is vulnerable to a fissile reaction (run-away sub-critical chain reaction that rapidly heats and destroys the mass without causing a fission chain reaction). The tamper for a thermonuclear bomb is instantly bombarded with high energy x-rays, heating it, pressure, and a massive neutron flux from the fusion bomb allowing this 3-stage device to essentially have as much yield as you want to add to it based on the practical limit of how heavy and thick you build the tamper layer.

This is not a joke. This is just actually a fact. DoReMi and PreCure are literally "reactionary" works by Toei animation attempting, and succeeding, at undoing the sociological damage done by their previous highly successful adaptation of Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. From analysis, there are no political ideologies espoused in any of these works, well besides uhhh... "xenoestrogen contamination activism and awareness" in Max Heart... but they are more philosophical reactionary against the rising sentiments of modernist materialism.

Sasami and Tenchi are the only consistent characters between different versions of Tenchi Muyo.

Except for Pretty Sammy. Sasami Kawai is an old person trapped in a magical girl spin off as the main character. Image There is literally a gag in Pretty Sammy where Sasami does an impression of an old Asahi commercial from the 80s and her parents ask "how old are you?" and she has to laugh it off. She has the soul of a 30 something salaried employee (completely exhausted by all this bullshit).

My dislike for Madoka Magika is more nuanced and deeper than anybody elses hate for Madoka. I found zero enjoyment for Madoka until Homura's Devil turn in the 3rd movie. I did not enjoy a single point of it till that moment at which I said "now this is Good Mahou Shoujo" Watch Lyrical Shoujo Nanoha, cowards.

Only a Gamer can understand the true nature of reality. Truth does not exist within the world we can see, it is Written some place else. In any videogame, inside the world of the Videogame, truth of that virtual world can not be found. The truth of that world is written by Man, encoded on a physical device in our realm using the Truth of Logic, and rendered into being by our devices, and comprehended by the eyes of Mankind though symbols on a D2 plane as pixels.

No real political ideologies are really espoused or promoted by any party in the story of Gundam. "Independence for Spacenoids" is a cover for a grab for power by a particular family that loosely represents organized crime. It is a series about people at war and decisions made in wartime. The ending of the main series of Gundam is about one man going insane and pursuing his vision for the future through ecological terrorism and one man resisting him for the sake of the innocent to be harmed. It is a battle between different schools of thought in utilitarianism.

@BasdWhtCatholc No. You want a long soft piece of leather for that. A shoe/boot sole is always going to have embedded grains of whatever you've been walking on. Strops should be a softer and flexible leather that gives when the blade passes over it. @BasdWhtCatholc boots are for walking, the inside face of your belt is for stroping.

Perhaps the most brilliant story beat in Mobile Suit Gundam that Tomino put in was not holding back on the reveal of Char Aznable and Sayla Mass's true identities by having them meet in the very first episode. This sets up a huge portion of the overall dramatic tension of the series as both characters are hiding their secret identities from their own side. It is greatest, of course, for Char as he has to walk an even finer tightrope of not winning too hard and killing his sister...

I see midwits say things like "why haven't we been back to the moon yet?" and I just have to stop and shake my head and wish I could make them understand...

Mission control doesn't look like this anymore. That's it. Image It's literally illegal to staff a taxpayer funded endeavor of this magnitude using these demographic markers. Greatest disservice we've done to every GWOT vet is not send them to GATech, UF, A&M, or Cal Berkley and given them a lifetime job with NASA. Image
