Finally ready to issue my assessment.

First, please note that in lieu of specific references, I have included instead a bibliography (at the end), as that better reflects my research and coalescing of this opinion rather than specific references.

/1 Second, it appears that @EERCANE was largely correct: not sure about Lee's pomposity, but highly overrated.

In what could the absolute WORST ad targeting of all time, Versace has ad promoted into my TL.

Travel with me, as we venture into the depths of the Versace Gift Guide…

/1
First, there’s the ad itself, with this crazy Uma-Thurman-In-A-Tarantino-Film looking woman looming over your shoulder. Because nothing says luxury like a living cartoon character with a sprite trying to sell you drugs or steal your children or something like that.

Having assisted some young relatives with their math homework a few dozen times now, I can assure you the problems with common core math go far beyond “it’s different than what I was taught.” At a very basic level, the curriculum itself is basically ADHD: worksheets and the like (actual textbooks are few and far between now), jump from concept to concept constantly, and mash together similar looking (but fundamentally different) concepts.

Welcome to the latest episode of "I Read David French So You Don't Have To."

Long time readers will be shocked to learn that in this episode, David French has once again changed his mind about one of his fundamental beliefs.

/1 Lets first cover what French likes in this bill: a statement that marriage in one state will be respected in all and two sops to social conservatives that the bill doesn't impact religious liberty or tax status.

Just an example of straw-manning by @AnsleySkipper and the Bulwark here.

First, they portray Youngkin's policies as quite literally preventing the parents of school children from choosing that child's nickname or pronoun.

/1 Example:

"Youngkin..seeks to prevent teachers..from referring to transgender students by...preferred names and pronouns. Which I guess means that neither the students, nor the parents...get to make decisions about important educational matters such as . . . nicknames."

@politicalmath Why pasta is actually an amazing stroke of genius and how to make some really good pasta at home. @politicalmath Allow me to explain:

You live on the Italian peninsula, you are poor.

Your diet consists of olive oil, wheat, vegetables, and a little bit of seafood or meat.

Your main source of protein is likely eggs.

@aelfred_D The song is about a boy who has rejected his traditional Catholic (perhaps Spanish) upbringing & turned to a life of nihilism, leaving himself to be controlled by his desire and his anger.

After losing his temper and killing a man, he has been apprehended by the authorities.

@aelfred_D The song is sung from the point of view of a young man about to be executed.

The boy, poor, lived a life of unstructured nihilism:
"Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me"
