French Communist Party didn't call for resistance to the German-occupation of France until Hitler invaded USSR a year later. Communists approached Vichy authorities to offer to testify against social democrats and liberals. Incredible levels of patriotism and loyalty on display.

Goldman Sachs is correct. No one actually knows the real Chinese GDP growth % in 2023. The US probably had higher GDP growth than China last year. China also stopped publishing tons of figures (like unemployment) that could be used to estimate GDP growth %. One of the best indicators of future corporate profitability aside from stock prices is corporate debt-to-GDP.

China’s growth was heavily credit-fueled but the return on every borrowed dollar has been shrinking + servicing debt cuts into corporate profitability.

I'm going to be covering The Jews and Modern Capitalism by the German sociologist and economist Werner Sombart.

Although he's one of the 20th century's most influential scholars, the book has been virtually forgotten for reasons that should become obvious when you read the text.
